Zelda winced, laying on the floor of the small, shallow cave. The contractions were getting worse. Why did she have to wander off?! Now there she was, alone and in labour. She pr!cked her ears at the sound of paw steps in the entrance. Standing there in the rain was an amber-eyed calico she-cat. "Zelda...? It's me, Cherry... I came to help you... you shouldn't have wandered off this late..." the newcomer mewed timidly as she stepped forward. Zelda huffed, "Yeah... I know, I'm a dumba$$...." Cherry sighed, "Just... take deep breaths...." --- Huo and Feather sat in the shed, listening to the rain pattering on the tin roof. Feather glanced at Huo, who appeared to be asleep, then went outside to relieve herself. Huo, however, hadn't been asleep. The ginger tom dragged himself out of the shed and toward the direction of the river. Feather entered the shed and was shocked. Huo was gone. She sniffed around frantically, twitching her tail. --- "Cherry!" Cherry yowled in pain as the grizzly's huge claws sliced into her tender stomach. The tortoiseshell slammed onto the ground, rolling until she hit the cave wall. Zelda stared in horror. She crouched over the two kits she had given birth to. She still had one more to bare. The bear roared loudly, longing for blood. He loomed over Zelda until a sopping wet, ginger cat landed on his face. Roaring in pain and malice, the grizzly flailed its arms until hitting the soggy lump of fur. Huo hit the ground with nothing more then a scratch. Alas, the crippled tom couldn't move fast enough to avoid the bear's blows. Huo screeched in pain as the bear tore out his eye and disemboweled him. The tom twitched uncontrollably, vom!ting and soiling himself until he lay completely still. --- Feather looked in horror at what lay before her. Unaware of the bear, it knocked her onto the ground, cutting her eye, chest and foreleg, along with breaking her forepaw. The dainty cat toughed it out and stood up, guarding Zelda and her kits. (not done)
Feather's breathing was deep and laboured as she stood there. Her body quaked from the freezing rain, and her pelt was plastered to her thin frame. The young she-cat nearly fainted, when beside her a large, warm body supported her. Ravenfeather. The large, maned black tom stood at Feather's side. On the other was Amber, her claws unsheathed. Together, the three cats attacked the bear. All four creatures screamed battle cries as they fought to the death. Thunder roared overhead, and lightning flashed vibrantly. The bear batted Ravenfeather and Amber out of the way as if they were nothing but carrion. Feather ur!nated herself in fear, but forced herself to fight. She leaped onto the bear's face and sank her claws and teeth into his eyes. He screamed in pain, backing up and thrashing his broad head. A bolt of lightning struck the trees, igniting the forest into an inferno. Feather was thrown off, and the bear stalked toward her, laughing menacingly and licking his blood-stained muzzle. He was getting prepared to attack when a flaming oak branch snapped. He looked up in horror, eyes wide. The bear's eyes reflected the very flames which were to take his own life in the next moment. A loud crack echoed in the clearing as the branch broke the great beast's spine. The bear collapsed, staring glassly at Feather, who was wide-eyed and panting. --- The rain put out the flames, and the cats gathered around Zelda. Cherry hadn't been too badly wounded, and sat there as well. "What are their names?" Ravenfeather asked softly. Grimly, Zelda replied, "Storm, Jay, and..." she motioned toward the small ginger kit, "Huo...." As if in response to his own name, the kit moved his head up, turning it to and fro as if looking at the others. Feather clenched her jaw, feeling tears well up in her eyes. Amber gently rested her head on top of Feather's and the small group sat in the rain, with the corpses of both the Murd.erer, and the Victim beside them.
Wow man, that story was one of the best I've heard in a long time! Really great! And short!? I actually think it's pretty long, but I don't read books either. xD
re: anything's fine. oh, if i don't get enough members then i'll probably let you guys have multiple characters, but i hope to actually have people join. x'D
i love writing, but i seem to have a hard time doing something really long, unless somebody really motivates me. also, this is great for being right from your memory!
I have a book, but it's on Google, and uses my e-mail. I write in little spurts when I feel creative. Also, Colors has taken up my free time, so I don't write too much. XD
