I don't think there's too much for me to say about the colors, they're not the best but you're on track! ^u^
Now just doodle and experiment ALOT, it's what I'm doing.
And at this angle, if she's holding both wings in the same way they would both be visible.
I suggest you check some avian wing anatomy pics out on deviantART, wings are hard to draw at first but once you get a general grasp of them and how they work, they're rather fun! Think of 'em as weird arms.
The creek looks odd because it lacks color, water is like a really weird mirror - The grass on the bank and anything else would be visible on it.
I have trouble with water, too. It's...tricky stuff.
Now my light's red and will start blinking soon sooo I have to shut up. Bye! XD
(Annnd there's the flashing light! boinke boinke boinke)
