Panthernires live in damp, dark places but some live in lighter areas. Their creature's colours vairy from where they live
They are usually docile, but when angry, their gems, eyes and veins change colour
Their legs can come further apart, so long as they have enough energy to keep them connected
(Tail/veins and leg separation inspired by Adventure Time!)

The gems on their backs can store light energy, which can either be given off as a blinding/lighting mechanism or focused and shot as a beam of light.
Some live in clans of about 2-3, but most are loners.
Females usually have smaller, shinier (sp?) gems, and more parts to the tail. The offspring do not get a gender until they are about 6 months old.
They live to about 1 Hundred years old
Their teeth and claws are made from the same gem as on their backs, and they can b.ite through most rocks to make their caves/dens
This one is called Nightshade.
His colours turn to redy yellowy colours when he's mad.
He live in a cave behind a waterfall by himself, and is prtective of his territory.
He has not yet learned how to fully controll his focus ability, so is often out trying to perfect it.
