XD lol. i never say that. its annoying. i only check out galleries if i like the painting i see, thats like what everyone should do.
this is vary good btw, i like how the background color helps set the mood. Link just makes it even more amusing X3

Great! and very true i'd rather have really gud comments and luk at their gallery if i feel like it than be constantly asked to, i only mention it if my gallery includes summut they might like ta see. P.S I ave a zelda paintin'... lol.

In fact, I usually check people's galleries if they post a nice comment on mine, as a gesture of respect. But if they say "check out my gallery," the obligation annoys me and I usually end up not checking theirs. So, ironically, it's quite counterproductive.

I was always nice and put compliments to peoples paintings on my invites, and I only did it to paintings of the same kinda stuff that was in my gallery. Got kinda tired of asking, though, so I stopped. . .

oh yeah, and I notice some people saying how much they like the drawing in the comments (and look at my gallery, of course) and not actually 'liking' the picture. I don' know if i should name and shame, well they know who they are I guess.
So annoying :(

I might be guilty of saying I like something, but not giving it a star. I tend to only give a star to paintings I really REALLY like.

I hate when people post comments like "Nice pic. Check my gallery!" It is not the actual comment that is the problem (Ive got no problems checking others gallerys), it is that they dont even LIKE the work, or are creative when saying "check my gallery".

I've only had one of those comments. I seem to be lucky. Either or, 3/4s of the time, those people have increadibly bad pictures, or they're traced! >-< The idiots of today...

haha! I give stars away like candy, only to things I do actually like though, cause i know it makes other people happy. At least 20 a day probably more.

I give likes out like candy, too :.P. My requests for checking out my gallery usually went something like "Want to come see my gallery?" ,so I think I was more original than most :.P.

I only tend to give more stars to new paintings because I check the New Paintings list way more often so I can kind of even the playing field for new paintings. I feel like sometimes the new ones never get the attention deserved.

Omg, I had 5 people spamming one of my pai tings trying to get everyone to look at this one kid's painting.... think I ended up deleting their FIFTEEN comments >_< made me so mad

If their painting has the same game as one of my paintings then I say it.

I totally know that feeling... But as long as they say something else as well, I'm fine with it ^^ it's not nearly as annoying as the "add my FC pls" paintings, or people who post the same painting several times. I've done reposts myself, but only when I've improved the painting, so essentially it's a new painting and that doesn't count, right?

OK, yeah, those guys who ONLY say that are pretty bad, nice job by the way.

I agree completely. I never check out galleries of people who just say 'check my gallery'. I used to but found a lot of them were just a load of Pokemon, Mario, Link or anime pics with no imagination. I only 'like' pics when I REALLY like them.

I don't have enough art to want to advertise and even if I did, I'm just not confident enough with my skills to do so. Plus, it's really annoying to read.

i dont think i would ever ask people to look at my gallery because there are so many amazing artists out there that do alot better then i could :)

Yeah, I'm usually fine with it if the person has art relavant to the painting they posted on. It's really anoying to do a picture from, let's say Zelda, and then have someone say "Check out my gallery," only to find out it's filled with My Little Pony. That's when it gets dumb. :P

I agree!!! I like to look for art I appreciate and comment on it and that's how a few people have found me! (I do wonder about resubmitting pictures, but it does sound annoying once you think about it!)

Naturally I agree. People should be more courteous when commenting and at least acknowledge the current painting posted in front of them instead of self promotion/advertisement. I'm not saying people shouldn't be willing to promote themselves, especially if they put a lot of effort into what they do, just that there are other, better ways to go about promote yourself without being a nuisance. What I typically do is ask people in the description of my painting(s) to view the rest of my gallery, but only if they like the current entry they're seeing. :P
