Since my last painting caused a minor s.storm I just want to clarify:
Just because I think one series wasn´t fit for Colors!3d and one is doesn´t mean that I like one less than the other.
I actually think I should have started working with existing characters much earlier.
It helps me to recognize what is important for an interesting character design, it improves my characters and my ability to get to the point faster.
There i said it and I wont take it back.

I have to agree with you there. I ocasionally get comments that basically say I should use more original characters in my art, but I think since Colors 3D isn't really meant for professional work, it's okay to use existing characters in order to practice important skills. I do draw a lot of OCs, I just don't upload a lot of them on Colors because I'm not ready to reveal them to the world yet.

Most of the OCs used by Victor are just for colors. when you upload something to colors it means taking the risk that proffesional could steal your ideas and claim them theirs. this is a huge reason Victor uses pre-existing characters, or ones that he hasnt been holding on to for decades. if he ever does reveal one, he will alter their appearance to protect their true design. weve all become comfortible here in the gallery, but the reality is we gamble when we show of our OCs here...
