Often I forget what it's like to draw on paper, so when I get back to it I'm like 'WHOAH, THIS IS SO MUCH BETTER' but keep drawing on the DS for no reason.
I tried using a drawing tablet once or twice. Not only is the surface smooth and sans friction, you don't exactly have the same eye-hand coordination since your hand is on the tablet and your eye is on the computer screen.
^ SHHHHH I do not allow anyone to say their art sucks. If it's an expression of yourself, if you make it with an intention, it doesn't suck. Artists are always improving, all the time, even if we're all at different rates of improvement.
I'm getting slightly tired of telling this to everyone, but I will never stop, because it is important and true and I will scream it from the rooftops. :P
I got a drawing tablet for Christmas 2012, but I couldn't get enough hand-eye coordination. It sadly hardly ever gets used, and when it does it's mostly for color or cleanup. However it is textured like construction paper, so friction isn't nearly as big a problem.

Sometimes it makes me wonder how I ever finish anything...

I perplex myself on such things from time to time. But I'm usually sprawled out on a bean bag face down on the floor when I draw at home.

I deal with the slippiriness. Although I wish this app had more layers. :)

I was able to produce a really sloppy sketch using a tablet. I just cannot fathom how someone would do lineart on one of those.
