He was found, and nurtured by a young troubled girl (this is why he didn't make a meal out of kaytlin. He would never harm a little girl)
Kaleb used to be very tiny. But, the more he was fed the more he grew.

When he lived alone in the forest, He hunted increasingly larger prey. That, along with his excellerated growth (more than humans) allowed him to grow to his giant size
