I kinda have to agree... its a bit annoying to me that it is true, but, thats how it is today, people who don't do much get top ranks (not everyone is like this of course) and those who put effort in don't get much for it (again not everyone). *sigh*
I don't know... I haven't really made this complaint because to be honest, a majority of the art in the "top ranked"section is actually really good... like... it begins to look more like envy instead. I agree there is a bias for certain art, but it's not stick figures. If you ask me, it's FAN ART. Even halfway decent Nintendo relatedpics will get into the top rank because people will like it just because they recognize it. Not saying that I don't like fanart, just that people have a bias for recognizable franchises...
Actually there is a popular stick figure artist who goes by the name of Squirt. Sometimes his stick art gets popular.
@Glen-I it wasn't meant to be a "rant" or "complaint". It was a regular drawing and then I thought, "oh god what is Drapture pointing at.... So I thought why not at some lamer art and make it as a complaint art. I was too lazy to draw anything else so I went and drew a stick figure and ythe stuff.
I can care less about popurlarity, being popular means you could attract too much attention than what you ever wanted, so then you will get haters, "diehard" fans, people requesting "Can I be your friend?! Or Could you add me in your next drawing?! My character is a MLP Pony or Sonic Fancharacter"
Like that stick character user from hatena that cuz he was popular, people star him? and fanarts that even though it have little stuffs but its not well made its popular? people these days, fans think they help so feeling FORCEFULY giving a like, and the users feeling so proud thinking it was all "hard work" when it was actually fanboys/girls than hard work.
It's like VR from Mario Kart. It's just a silly number. All you want to do is to have fun, not gain popularity because of how many VR you have, in this case stars.
So stars are like this. Have fun and make the decency for good art and you'll find that popularity and great friends. It's something that our world is so backwards sometimes.
I seriously can't stop laughing! This is actually true. I worked so hard on one of my paintings and all I get a few likes on mine. But this is freaking funny!
