oh! this reminds me of a manga I read where a girl was called the awakening who's appearance would bring the advent of the sky dragon (?) She was taken from Japan into a past world. She meets a guy named Izark, who has unbelievable abilities. Turns out he is the sky dragon, and their love(and her being safe) is the thing that keeps him from turning into it and kilIing everyone. (sorry, I forgot her name and the manga title.)

Oh I remember now! The girl's name was Noriko. The manga might've either been Away or Far away I think ^v^;
