Aries, Pisces by Athens

(M part three)

Oh man, I love this picture. Tried an altered method of drawing. What do you guys think?

Writing's in the internet comments. Also, heads up, there is some cursing. Well, it's like one word, but I don't like surprising people, so yeah.

(Be warned; I have switched from third person POV to first person POV)
My legs were so shaky as I stepped out into the crowd. It really wasn’t as bad as I thought though; I guess I was expecting ponies to be bumping into me as soon as I stopped moving and yell at me. Of course, there was still a lot of talking and the all these voices joined in to make that rumble after you heard the initial thunder.
I looked behind myself to see Starlight leaning against the wall and watching me. Her look was so casual that it reignited the anger I had for her and quickly turned around. Humph! She didn’t need to see my face anyway.
There was an alleyway, no surprise, but there was a green flame glowing there. OK, more interestingly, it changed from green to dark red and slowly into a fainter purple. Of course, it was fading because the carrier must have been walking away, though I couldn’t see her face. It felt like a dumb idea, but I followed anyway, because I wasn’t sure if I could find the courage to do anything else.
And into the alley I went. The changing light was very pretty indeed. I was going to ask about it, but then the words got stuck my throat. At least they hadn’t spotted me. Until... he looked at me out of the corner of his eye, that is. I stiffened.

“Heeey, who's this asshole? Following me for no reason?” The light, the /fire/ stopped moving and settled into a strange pale orange.

I stammered, “Oh, I’m sorry. Ah, I’m going now-”

He quickly said, “Hey, hey, hey,” and he approached me with his head low. He had a very young face and was my height, surprisingly. “Heeeey.” he drew out with a smile. “I was just kidding! Doesn’t anyone know how to kid anymore?” He had a toothy, lopesided smile. The strong shadows cast on his face didn't help much either.
“Oh, sorry. I’m not good at this.” now I felt stupid and looked down at my hooves.

“No, seriously. It’s fine! I get this a lot. So you’ve just moved in or something?” This guy right here: fearless.

“Ah, no, just visiting, I guess. I can’t explain.” I was cracking under the pressure; pathetic. The fire was so close that I could feel the heat radiating off of it, despite him having the body float behind himself.

“I’m pretty sure you can though, but lemme guess. You’re from a different part of town and...” he inhaled deeply. “And you smell like fruit! So you’re from the edge of town or something?”

Now I was flustered, I didn’t think my smell would be pointed out of all things! “Yeah, I’m from the south side.” I think that was right. Agh, I never had a reason to know my address.

“Oooh, so you must be- I mean, /that’s/ why you smell like pineapple or something? Suits you, I think. You’re chill, you know.”

“Eh, what?” This guy talked fast.
“For somepony from the south, I mean. Ha, nevermind the thought. Just know that you’re pretty chill, can I call you something?”

“Dominiq, I guess.”
“You guess? Well, call me Salamander, I guess.” and he laughed. I laughed, finding it hard not to.

"So, you're like a lone wolf?" The question came out weak. Now that I thought about it, he had a very wolfish aura about him. His bushy mane and hostile eyes screamed wolf.

"I never thought of it like that, but yeah." he mumbled as if I hit a sore spot. "I manage." Then he sat down.

Then I noticed his cutiemark; a simple blue torch.
"Yeah, cool isn't it?" bringing it to light with the flame. My face grew hot again seeing as he actually noticed me /glancing/ at his mark.
"You seem skilled at it." I said stiffly. I didn't mean to sound condecsending; he was able to keep the flame lit without any fuel, let alone make all those different colors earlier.
"Eh, I wouldn't say that, but thanks." confident and humble? "You'll get yours soon enough- I bet that's what you're here for, right?"
"No," I shook my head, "not really." Now it was getting awkward.
"I'll see you around; I was heading home anyway." and he gave another smile before trotting off, deeper into the alley and wit

with the light floating lazily in front of him. All I could do was nod to myself before standing up and going back to Starlight.
"Okay, I talked to somepony. What now?"
