"Well, if you want to know that badly, come and find out!" Sage told her, pointing his sword forward. Carina didn't need to be told twice. With that, she charged into battle.
The problem with Sage was that he was much too confident in his capablility and was therefore too careless in this short lived battle. He had completely underestimated how much stronger and faster Carina had become since their first encounter. However, he quickly found out.
Within seconds, Carina had Sage pinned against a tree. She held him by the neck with one hand, the other held her up-raised sword. "Last chance Sage!" she exclaimed. Sage simply smirked. You see kiddo, it isn't for me to tell" he told her. Suddenly something hit into Carina, sending her crashing across the ground. As she sat up, her eyes widened, seeing that the tip of an arrow was now lodged in her right shoulder. Looking up, she saw a wither skeleton help Sage up. It was Skull. "What? you too?!" Carina exclaimed "Come on, you honestly thought it was only me involved in this?" Sage asked, but didn't wait for an answer. "Oh and, hate to break it to you, but it's not just us" he added. "Right! Oh and by the way, we're not the only ones who came to say hello for old time's sake" Skull told her.
Then it happened...

Carina was about to reply, but stopped as she suddenly felt a surge of darkness pass through her like a wave. She fell to her knees. She looked up. The dark wave was actually a shadow. She stood up. The shadow disappeared and quickly reappeared, passing through her several times, causing pain to course throughout her body. After the fifth or sixth passing, the shadow came to rest in front of Sage and Skull. Then to Carina's surprise, it began to take shape, the shape of a man. Then, the shadow began to fill with colour which slowly returned to the shadow like a wave, going from the bottom, up. First, the legs and lower body, followed by the chest and upper body, leaving the head to last. As the wave of colour went up, Carina's eyes widened more and more. She refused to believe what she was seeing. The colour wave finished it's course, revealing dark hair and pale skin. Carina backed away, shaking her head. The figure turned and looked at her, it's eyes locking with hers. She could not believe it. Standing before her,
was Herobrine.

"Well well Carina, it's been a while" Herobrine said calmly but in an evil tone. Carina opened her mouth to reply, but no sound or words came out. So, the thoughts raced through her mind instead. Herobrine read them like a book. "You're dying to know how it's even possible for me to be here correct?" he asked her. She was too shocked to answer him. "Well, to tell you the truth, i'm not actually here" he continued. With that, Sage moved his hand. It passed right through Herobrine, the black of the shadow returning where ever Sage came into contact. He could do nothing to him. However, this worked both ways. Herobrine could not feel, touch or influence anything. Except of course, his last remaining link. "You see Carina, I may not be here, but, i'm no longer in the Nether either." he told her, his link. "...But how?!" was all Carina could or had time to say. "I wouldn't worry about that now. Because, in the End, it won't matter. Not for you anyway" Herobrine answered. With that, he rose up in the form of the shadow.

At the same time, Sage and Skull rushed forward and attacked. Carina was caught conpletely off guard. She tried to fight them, but her mind was in a daze, she couldn't think straight. Then as Sage swung down, Carina managed to dodge it and strike back, her mind clearing enough for her to fight.
Herobrine watched from above. The shadow was rippling around him like a black aura, then it took over him completely as he quickly moved.
As Carina hit back an arrow Skull shot, she suddenly felt the sharp, surging pain returning as Herobrine passed through her again. He came back and this time, hovered in the same place, causing the pain to last. By now Carina was crying out. Satasfied, Herobrine moved away. Carina fell to her knees. Her vision was becoming more and more blurry. Looking up, all she could make out was the intense glow of Herobrine's eyes. And then.
nothing.
Carina blacked out.
