Aah um.. Pencil is the one I know about too. It's good, but definitly not the best. I'm sure there are some better ones out there. I'll try and find some, but yes, Pencil is pretty decent for free software.

Wow! You've got some pretty cool stuff for Christmas! :D
The only drawing device I have is 3DS, so I don't know how to help you. But one thing is to go on youtube and watch videos of people drawing or animating on software. The ones that seem nice or fitting, find out what device that is and research about it. You'll understand XD
