The tunic is very well drawn! 8D It reminds me of the older designs of Link from the original NES titles. I very cool design overall, as well. I'm gonna go read your Fanfic. now! XD

Hmm...well, maybe you could alter the tunic's sleeve length? I remember seeing a design in Hyrule Historia where the tunic had no sleeves...

If you don't want to mess too much with the tunic, there's always the option of adding something to make it your own, like a bit of armor, a scarf (Hyrule Warriors), or messing with the design of the grieves(sp? XD) and boots. Or you could have the sword on his belt, though I don't remember if your story specifically stated having him draw it from its sheath on his back or not...

<xDD I tried many angles, but they always strayed too far from how I wanted. I couldn't add too much armor, or take out certain parts of the tunic like the sleeves. It always ended up looking too noble, or too rebelious :c <xDD I tried the scarf/cape look, and it required me moving his scabbard to his waist, which took away a bit of his identity. I tried cutting his tunic down the middle many different ways, like the usual V-neck, or split it all the way down, making it look less like a skirt(xDD), but it still looked to noble.

I'm going for a heroic look that also looks very neat, and it's not too hard to do, like I did here, but it looks very childish, and only kid Link could get away with it :C My attempts always end up drawing back to SS/TP <xD
