I dunno, I took Japanese for 3 years and I believe that's what higurashi means. XD
It's a type of bug (some sort of cricket or a beetle, I think) that burrows in the ground and makes this chirping noise. It sounds like a mix between a buzzing hum and a cricket's chirp, I believe.

Oh well that's awesome Aizume :D He does have a little buzzing sound when he talks, just like a robot ^-^
