Where do you go to do your portrait work? Is it a public art group or something?
I wouldn't mind practicing portraits from life but I wouldn't know where to find a model for it.

there is a group called Dr Sketchy's (Vancouver) chapter - that hold life drawing - and all the models for it here in Vancouver are burlesque performers. http://drsketchyvancouver.com/
there is also a place here that is a daily life drawing organization - called 'Basic Inquiry' - see if you can find something in your town - especially any art college will usually hold 'open' life drawing sessions... Hope you find something, cheers!

Well I'm going to study art at university next year so I will probably attend a lot of life drawing sessions wherever I choose to study.
Until then I think I'll stick to drawing from photos.
