oh, and I don't really pay attention if there's an extra letter or not like "colab" or "collab" XD English man... I feel sorry for any non native speaker trying to learn it :/

super*star

18 Dec, 2013, 10:43 pm

is it spelled "colab"? :/

super*star

18 Dec, 2013, 10:48 pm

i will look it up

.......

definition of "colab": N/A
definition of "collab": no results

so it's neither, it's not a word XD

so i guess it has 2 "l"s since "collaboration" has 2 "l"s

^Reply from morality debate: Yes, animals are self- aware. I only said that we humans like to think that it makes us special. But really, all it does, when not properly used, is make us feel sad and opressed. For example, dogs are clearly self-aware as they make choices based on outcomes. (altering behavior as to recieve a treat) On the other hand, animals that cannot be trained are not self- aware, such as ladybugs. All self- awareness does is inform us of issues that need to be fixed in order to better survive. Unfortunately, this raised awareness makes us feel hurt or angry when others around us try to "survive" also. (bullies, shoplifters, se.xists, etc) However, this is not a bad thing, because self awareness, be it among animal or man, (although we're truly the same once you think about it) leads us to a heightened degree of innovation and empathy that causes us to begin to solve problems together. I have no quarrel against animals. They are great. I'm just not satisfied with the way they, or us for that matter, are placed in nature. "The circle of life" is just as much a circle of death if you really think about it. By trying to survive we disenfranchise so many others who are trying to do the same. This is not right. By making ourselves empathetically aware of this fact, (ho.mo.phobia is essentially another name for survival of the fiittest) We can change things through collaboration. I'm just saying that as beings who are created to be self aware, we should do more to align ourselves with more selfless motives as to benefit all of mankind.

Bottom line, all people are bothered by hatred, hunger, ignorance, and other things. These feelings are caused by biological directives that become uneccessary for sentient beings. Having said that, while we allow these things to exist we will never be truly happy. Call me an optimist, but I believe we can solve these problems through the power of the human spirit. (Animals can help too, but not as much since they...

20 Dec, 2013, 10:38 am

...don't talk or have hands, another cruel truth of nature) And the best part is, it's happening right now, and has been since self- awareness began among the first... well whatever it was. Originally meant to be an extra motivator for survival, it's rather ironic that self- awareness has become the drive for so much more. Watchful arenting, Social animals, Empathy, Farming, Wellfare, Religious freedom, The civil war, women's suffrage, gay rights, The bad (such as 9/11) only occurs when those who are unwilling to change gain access to the powerful tools, such as planes, that we use to change the world.
I'm sorry if that was too much ranting. I just get really excited when good people want to listen to what I have to say.

*Animals can be gay too? Really? I had no idea. I just heard someone somewhere else say the opposite to argue against ho.mo.se.xuality, and I wanted to respond to that. In that case, people also need to be aware of this. This lends even more support to gay rights than before!

Thank you for your time and patience. These are really long comments, and I appreciate it. :D

Gary!

*That last part was supposed to be :D

And when I list all the positive revolutions at the end, it's supposed to say attentive PARENTING, not "arenting." Sorry for the typos.

23 Dec, 2013, 7:10 am

Well. You've brought up some very good points that I have not considered. I completely agree with you: Why do we mimic natural processes in modern society, often twisting them into corrupt and uneccessary forms? Perhaps it is because the human mind is not used to the excess we have created. This definitely does throw things out of balance as the forces that preserve the world become its destruction. Modern culture turns hunger into greed, gluttony and consumerism; survival into racism, disparagement, and prejudice; and we probably don't even need to discuss what the reproduction of the species has become. :C

Indeed, these horrible pursuits exist only because of technology.

Gary!

23 Dec, 2013, 7:46 am

...But let us not forget that they also could never exist without instinct. For many years, I have viewed instinct as the enemy, as it corrupts all of man's greatest achievements. However, I now see that technology ruined a nearly perfect world that had existed for many years. Could it be that both technology and instinct are forces for good, but are opposites, and thus fated to corrupt each other? It seems then, that utopia could be reached by either route. Unfortunately, both cannot exist with mankind at peace. If we wish to live with technology, we must leave our instincts behind, and if we hold our freedom and humanity too dearly to let go, we must cease to corrupt it with technological excess.

Unfortunately, we are "trapped" by the corruption that has risen from both forces, and unfortunately, it looks like there is no turning back. The corrupted "Neo- instincts" of mankind ironically prevent our return to a simpler, peaceful society ruled by nature (such as the Native Nmericans. They had EVERYTHING figured out. :D) We are just too greedy. At the same time, mankind holds on to its natural heritage, and fears the technological paradise that it fails to understand.

Natural law dictates that beings must follow their instincts if they wish to survive, but there is a lesser known mathematical law that almost guarantees a structured, modern future once life develops. It is too late to turn back, and we (as a whole, because I'm pretty psyched) are afraid of moving forward because we value our feelings and freedom. As the law states, progress is inevitable. It began with life on earth. Then self- awareness. Then empathy. Then problem solving. We created technology to cure disease and improve our lives. The drive of self- awareness, originally allowing animals to adjust their behavior to better to survive has become this. We no longer adjust only our behavior. We adjust the entire world. And the evolution of all life makes this possible.

Gary!

23 Dec, 2013, 7:51 am

...Woah. Native "Nmericans?" That is an embarassing typo. (sorry)

Anyway, we need not fear this new modern society, infinitely far-off into the future. As I had said before, it is built by woman's rights, religious freedom and stuff. (Of course, these fights only became necessary as society ruined the way of life in which women were already givin their rights)

Gary!

23 Dec, 2013, 8:03 am

Because of man's corrupted instincts, it will not willingly change the world in any direction. As utopias, humankind is too selfish to return to nature, or create tomorrow. But the laws of sentience mean that a better future, (which may actually be a return to nature, because the possibilities are endless) cannot be stopped, and making yourself aware of its creation, accepting, and not living in fear, because whatever happens, it only going to get better from here. :D

Alrighty, then. That's it for now. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to your next response.
