-ABOUT PHENNA-
Lifestyle:
Phenna are very intelligent, graceful, social and calm nocturnal creatures. They flee quickly from sight and are much like deer; quick and silent. They live in a group, like a wolf pack, of around fifteen called a Colony. Phenna are generally very peaceful, though they are known to show dislike towards others over mates or food. They communicate with soft, higher pitched cries, louder cries indicating danger or a threat nearby. Since they have trouble keeping warm, females can spit silk and weave it into a blanket with her claws for the clutch of eggs before they hatch. When the Phen (Young Phenna) get older, they wear it as a scarf. The silk can also be used as a defence tactic when in danger, aiming for the eyes of the attacker. If a Phenna does not have a scarf, a kind female friend or mate will make one.
Food and Hunting:
Phenna are mostly carnivores and hunt only at night, when they are most active. They lure in prey (wolves, deer, caribou, badgers, foxes, anything that wanders too close) by dimming all lights on their body, save for the butterfly fins on the tail. With its antennae, it can sense the auras of all other beings around it. It lures in prey with this light in the black of night, then turns around and attacks with its claws and teeth. However, both are small and not terribly effective, as Phenna are not strong creatures. Because of this, Phenna know exactly where to strike; the jugular vein. Most Phenna also hunt in pairs or small groups to chase and attack prey for a surer k.ill. Phenna are unbelievably fast, sweeping a cheetah aside at up to 2OOmph. They're not very strong due to the lack of demand for v.iolence. This makes for lots of opportunities to attack at the right spots for an effective k.ill. Phenna also eat leaves and berries, some even great at making effective herbal remedies to heal, prevent fatigue, enhance glow and more. However, Phenna cannot live on just plants alone. Meat is needed.

Patters and Colours:
Phenna bodies are all one colour. This can range from black, white, any shade of grey and very dark colours (eg. Navy blue, very dark purple or red, brown ect.). A Phenna's light is in the markings, which are a combination of any three colours, however, two is more common and one and three is VERY rare. The eyes are also the same colour and are almost never a different colour from the marking. The beads are the shell of the Plenna's egg rolled with silk. They are wrapped around the Phenna's helmet horns by the leader of the Colony after becoming an adult.
Mateship:
Phenna are fully s.exually mature at about half a year old, as Phenna live anywhere from seven to fifteen years. However, they are not allowed to take a mate until one year old when they become an adult after proving their worth by surviving a winter. When their beads are tied on, they are eligble to take a mate. Phenna generally like to mate in January-February, eggs being laid a month later and then hatching a month after that, meaning that the Phen are born in the springtime (March-April). This means they have the maximum amount of time possible for preparing for winter.
Phenna aren't terribly picky when it comes to mates, but the female needs a strong and reliable male to teach the Phen everything they need to know about everything before winter. Phenna show affection by nuzzling one's neck, touching antennae or butterfly fins or butting helmets lightly. Once the male and female have found their desired parter mid-winter, they will mate in a privare location away from the Colony's main camp and, a month later, the female will lay anywhere from 1-4 eggs, 2 being the most common number. The male and female will stay very close to the eggs to keep them warm during the cold of winter, thus making their bond stronger for coming parenthood.

Growing Up:
The Phen hatch one month after the eggs are lain by the female. When they emerge, they observe the world with wide eyes and are covered quickly by the small blanket their mother has made for them. They are about half a foot tall at this point. For the next two weeks, they sleep and drink from their mother, who also grooms them while the father hunts. For the two weeks after, they are getting up and exploring their nest, being curious and adventureous. After, at only one month old, when the Phen are about a foot tall, they step outside for the first time. They explore the camp and the Phenna in it, who will take part in looking after the Phen when the parents are busy. For the next two months as summer comes around, the Phen play fight with other clutches and look up to the Phenna with great respect. At three months old and two feet tall, the Phen are apprenticed by a Phenna in camp based on interests. If a Phen likes plants and herbs and does not like to fight, the Medic will teach them the ways of remedies. If they are bold and battle ready, they might be apprenticed by a Hunter of the Colony, who will teach them boarder patrols, hunting and k.illing. Males usually take on the training role while females hunt for the Colony. When the winter arrives and the Phen are about nine months old and are almost at full height at four feet tall, the mothers tie on the scarves (old blankets) and they must help the Colony prepare for winter and survive throught its harsh extremes. In the spring, when the Phen become adults (or Phenna), they have their beads tied around their horns as a sign of accepting a blessing from the leader of the Colony. They can now take a mate in the coming winter when they are almost two years of age.

Colony Positions:
Leader- A male or female with the brightest glow. They lead the Colony and make all desisions. They are leader until they die or are k.illed. (One Year )
Hunters- The bunch of Phenna that hunt most often in the Colony. Thain the Hunterphen. (One Year )
Hunterphen- A Phen out to become a Hunter under the guidence of a loyal and dependant Hunter of the Colony. (Three Months - One Year)
Medics- Those who specialize in herbs and remedies. Train the Medicphen. (One Year )
Medicphen- The intelligent Phen who are training to become a Medic. (Three Months - One Year)
Elders- The older Phenna who usually retire die to severe injury blindness, deafness or just old age. They pass on wisdom to the Phen and are always priority to be fed. (Usually Phenna 13 Years , earlier with a disability.)
Other Info:
-If a leader is not an appropriate one, the Phenna may sometimes k.ill the current leader and the Phenna next brightest glow will step forward. However, the Colony will try to reason with the leader before going to lengths such as m.urder.
- If two Phenna are thought to have equal glow and both wish to be Leader, they will b.utt helmets until one cracks. The one without the crack is the victor and will be Leader. Harder helmets are thought to mean more knowledge.
- A pregnant/egg carrying female will glow dimmer than usual, as her energy is being taken to prepare for egg laying.
-Phenna live in large dens that they usual dig out themselves. Nests are made with leaves, moss, feathers and everythingnsoft, including the female's silk to hold it all together and add extra comfort.
-A full grown male Phenna are usually six feet tall while females are about five and a half. They weigh in at about 2OOlbs, their helmet being the heaviest part on their body.
- Phenna love to compliment eachother. They have a strong sense of kinship for their Colony and want all to feel welcomed.
Thats all for Phenna. Questions? Dont hesitate to ask! :D

Wow, Lexy, I'm amazed with the depth you've stuffed into this species. :3
Also, Phenna seem odd; they seem very peaceful, kind, and respectful of others, but they seem to know quite a bit about combat. Would colonies ever war or skirmish, over things like hunting grounds or general territory?

one question what happens if a army of robots or a human mili.tary attacks them?

You say Phenna can dim their lights, right? What happens when they flash the lights? Like morse code or something.
