Lightningstrike had been daydrea.ming most of the journey to Star Oak. He came back to reality when Sweetfur's meow announced their arrival. (Sp?)

Frostedstar sat above his den on his favorite branch, swinging his tail. *I should send some patrols out soon.* he thought to himself. *The prey's low, but the territory's markers need renforced...*

"Hello Frostedstar! Do you need any help?"

"Alright, we're here. I'm going to need some help climbing up though..." Sweetfur looked over at him.

Riverpaw layed beside a tree and sang quietly to herself. She played with a near by mossball carefully manuvering it with her paws.

Sweetfur tried making herself as small as possible so she could be carried. Of course, she was already a very light-weight cat and was easy to carry.

Lightningstrike reached the slip gap in the tree and lifted Sweetfur inside. He pulled himself inside the large space. A hole in the top of the tree let the early dawn light seep inside.

She lay down after he let her go, "Alright. Well, usually we wait until moon high, but I think that your problem allows an exception."

(LOL) Sylpha waited for a minute to see if her mentor would be here, but if he didn't show up soon, she would go by herself.

Lightningstrike twitched his whiskers, "How am I an exception?"

Frosterstar looked around, searching for any other cats. "Sylphapaw, can you find some other cats to go along as well?"

Riverpaw stopped singing her song and trotted over to the medicine cat den. She walked in quietly trying not to disturb thunde heart. She sat a few fox lengths away and sang the same verse again. (the gurdian angle one).

Sweetfur flicked an ear, "Well, I don't think it really matters. Let's just sleep now, okay?" she mewed, curling up in a ball and closing her eyes.

Lightningstrike sighed and layed down next to Sweetfur. He closed his eyes and waited for sleep.

Sylpha walked up to Riverpaw. "Would you like to go patrol the boundries with me? I also have to renew the scent markers."

After some time, Sweetfur felt herself drifting off into sleep. She opened her eyes and was in StarClan's territory. She looked around, searching for Lightningstrike.

Riverpaws eyes widend and she padded over to thundeheart. "W-whats wrong?"riverpaw meowed.

Lightningstrike was yanked into darkness. *Am I drea.ming? Where's Starclan?*
Suddenly, Lightningstrike found himself on the border of two very different forests. A bright, starry one, and a dark one, covered with shadows. *Starclan and the Dark forrest...* he thought.

(The only warrior here is Thunderheart, and she is recovering... the only thing I can think of is if Frostedstar goes with her. : / )

Sweetfur called Lightningstrike's name, hoping he was nearby.

"Poppy seeds got it!"riverpaw yelped. Riverpaw pawed through the piles of herbs frantically searching for poppy seeds. "Aha"riverpaw mewed after finding the precious seeds ,carefully spooning them to thunder with her paws.

Lightningstrike caught the sight of Sweetfur's fiery pelt flashing through the shadowy trees. He called after her and bounded through the foggy trees. Lightningstrike leapt over tree roots and thorns, following the pelt. He skidded to a hault when he lost the sight of Sweetfur's fur.

Sweetfur couldn't see him, and was about to run through the territory to look for him when she heard a familiar voice say her name. (Her leg works fine when she visits StarClan.)

Riverpaw bolted out of the medicine cat den leaving with a quick farwell. Riverpaw pounced on the unsuspecting sylpha paw. "Hey sylpha you needed someone to go out on patrol with you?"riverpaw mewed happy because thunderheart was the least bit better.

"Yup!" Sylpha said this while tapping her paw on Riverpaw's nose. "But I think we need a warrior to go with us."

Lightningstrike swiftly glanced in all directions trying to spot her pelt again. Instead, Lightningstrike only saw slimey, black trees stretching far.ther than he could see. *I'm lost.*
Lightningstrike ventured onward, feeling hungry eyes burning into his pelt. He kept stalking through the trees until he spotted a cat. "Sweetfur?" he meowed, hopefully. The cat turned and Lightningstrike's heart seemed to stop. "Lionstripe..."

Sweetfur turned, seeing her father behind her. Muscles rippled under the large tom's tabby pelt, "T-Talonstreak...?" she squeaked, looking up at him.

"Hmmm but who ?" riverpaw inquired. She looked around the camp. *thunderheart cant cheetah blaze is off somewhere hmm......*Riverpaw paced back and forth.

Cheetahblaze noticed the apprentices searching for warriors. He bounded over and meowed, "What's going on? Need a warrior or two?"

Frostedstar sighed and trotted up to the tiny patrol. "I suppose you'll need more warriors."

Pinefur sat gaurding the camp entrance. *I need to keep the kits inside the camp...* he thought.

"Yeah, we need someone to go on patrol with us and renew the scent markers."

Talonstreak grinned his signature half grin. "Hey Sweetfur." his smile dissapeared. "I'm not very pleased with you."

Lightningstrike took a step foward. "Why are /you/ here?" Lionstripe pulled his tongue out and began lapping at his black-streaked golden tabby fur. "You obviously don't know what happened...do you? Or are you just too stupid to understamd /why/ cats don't go to Starclan?"

"oh so your coming with us frostedstar?"riverpaw asked in awe.She walked towards the etrance and waited for the others to follow.

Cheetahblaze swiped his paw over his apprentice's ear. "I'll show you how to hunt." He tried to sound confident, but on the inside, he dreaded hunting in front of his clanmates.

Sweetfur flattened her ears, "Er... what did I do now...?" she squeaked.

"ok. Cheetahblaze. Frostedstar, how do we renew scent markers?" (<oh nooo. XD)

Lightningstrike snorted. "Of course I know why cats go here, but why are /you/ here? What did you do?"

Lionstripe bursted out laughing. His deep, voice sent chills down Lightningstrike's spine. Lionstripe looked back at his son and his laughing was abruptly cut off. "You /really/ don't know, do you?" he grinned.

Talonstreak sighed and looked his daughter in the eye. "You and that cat, Lightningstrike. I always /knew/ that cat meant trouble...especially because I knew his father and he was becomming just like him."

(there'll be more detail in the comic. He got his way all the time...ALL the time. Even when Sweetpaw had to be the med cat. He knew the 2 loved eachother & Talon didn't want them to be mates, so when she got shot and was the med cat, he got his way cuz they can't be 2gether)

Lightningstrike furrowed his eyebrows. "No." he admitted.

Lionstripe's smile grew, resembling Lightningstrike's usual grin. "I k!lled Talonstreak you idiot!"

Riverpaw looked at sylpa paw and burst out laughing. "you /laugh/ dont know what it is ?" riverpaw said while giggleing. "oh sorry"riverpaw said while still laughing.

Sweetfur's neck fur bristled, "But I love him! I don't care if it's against the Warrior Code! I'll be with him, even if it means betraying the Clan!" she meowed. She felt a little bad about snapping at her father like that... but didn't much care.

"YOU DO /WHAT/? EWWWWW..." Sylpha stepped back, disgusted.

mosskit padded over to frostedstars den. "frostedstar? may i speak with you?" She called guiltyly

She saw that he wasnt there. "oh well..." she sighed, padding away.

she walked away, sitting in front of the warriors den. she gave herself a through wash and began licking behind her ears. She winced when she got to her bruise, somewhat thinking to reconsider meeting the medicine cat about it. She shrugged and carried on silently.

She gathered her courage and peered around the white flakes. one brushed her nose and she giggled and played happyly.

mosskit lay, watching the forest and taking in its superior bueaty. (sp?) she listened to the sounds, smiling at the thought of going out there and seeing them. she shook her head. No, she was in enough trouble and she coudnt hold off her apprentice saramony any more. an extra 2 moons was plenty for her.

Lightningstrike wasn't suprised, but frowned and meowed, "I always knew you'd murd3r a cat some day, but why Talonstreak?"

Talonstreak's eyes were soft and he smiled painfully. "I love you Sweetfur, and I want you to be happy, but that cat isn't who you think he is. I don't want to see my little girl get hurt...because I can't do anything about it."

Steamkit, now slightly taller and stronger, emerged from the nursery. *1 more moon...* He thought excitedly. He would soon be an apprentice, and be able to really show his potential. He didn't know who would be his mentor, but /all/ of the warriors were great!

Sunstripe layed in the dull sunlight, it was dawn, but snow fell from above. She felt like chasing flakes like she did when she was a kit... It was always so fun and kept one warm.

Mosskit looked proudly at her creation. She smiled and looked around. "wow, like noone is out, " she observed. she sat and watched the clans entrance, wondering if she could guess who came in first.

Mosskit stuided sunstripe for a breif moment before returning her gaze to the entrance. board, she hurried over to her. "hi sunstrpe!"

"Don't tell me you want me to do /that/ Frostedstar..."

He yawned, when Cheetahblaze had heard they were taking the apprentices out on a patrol he had hoped it would be fun. *More boring...*

Almost every tree Frostedstar passed, he marked. The river flowed silently down the small hill, cutting through the distant marsh.

She looked bigger than before, and was ///almost// going to be made an apprentice. She gimmanced. almost, as in a couple days ago. Sunstripe didnt know this, and she was //NOT// planning to tell her anytime soon.

"so frosted star if ... if thunderheart cant be a warrior anymore..."riverpaw said quietly "...then who will mentor me?". Riverpaw tried to hide her sadness, she didnt want to think about it but what if thunder could no longer teach her? Riverpaw fought back the tears.

Sunstripe bounced up into a hunter's crouch when Mosskit came to her. "Foolish Mosskit! You have stumbled into my trap!" She smiled playfully, and tapped Mosskit's head.
Steamkit watched his mother go from serious to playful. He co'cked his head. *Odd...*

"That is sooo nasty... Why cant we just rub our faces on the trees instead? It doesn't smell awful like this." Sylpha wrinkled her nose as she followed behind the others.

she glanced shyly at her brothers and sisters. they had hesatantly avoided her sonetimes, and she didnt protest, understanding why. she would put a burdon on them, and she was compasionite enough to let them be.

Talonstreak shook his head. "That tom is just like his father. I knew him...He was a good friend of mine..." Talonstreak touched his nose to Sweetfur's head. "I have to go now. Please..." he meowed, "Just make me proud." Talonstreak's starry form vanished in the low white fog.

She looked up excited "you will play?!" she youweled excitedly and launched hersellf at sunstripe. she parted her jaws and left a warning bite on her tail.

Cheetahblaze caught the familiar scent of a mouse, his mouth watering. *Mmm... Smells so good...*

she giggled and attemted a stern face. "it is i, mossstar, leader of mossclan!" she yelled in defiance, puffing out her small chest. She let out a tiny roar and jumped on her mothers back.

Sweetfur's vision blurred as tears welled in her eyes, "F-father? Don't leave! Not again...." The view of StarClan faded away as she woke up inside the Star Oak.

Sunstripe gasped when Mosskit jumped on her back. "Nooooo!" She wailed, and began to gently prance around. "You are much to mighty, Mossstar!"

"Lightningstrike," Lionstripe began, "I didn't //murd3r// him, he practically /begged/ me to k!ll him."

Lightningstrike's vision of his father began to fade, but before he was pulled completely away, his father hissed in his ear, "You're just like me. You can't escape your fate, I'll make sure of it." Lightningstrike shot up and stared at Sweetfur.

Cheetahblaze smirked at the young apprentice. "Frostedstar's right, even I can't knock her down." He laughed.

"oh ok"riverpaw replied quietly. She looked down at her paws still feeling fear consume her, with every thought of thunderheart.

Sweetfur, her face still wet with tears, looked up at the white tom.

mosskit lept down. "good. i am ready to issue your commands. fetch me fresh k!ll!" she damanded. "or meet you end, "she added (fake) with a hint of threat iin her voice.

Frostedstar smiled softly. "Let's head back up to the thunderpath. We can hunt along the way."

Lightningstrike opened his mouth to say something, but his mind was blank. He sat up and tried to think of how to tell Sweetfur his own father k!lled Talonstreak.

The cream queen turned around and raced to the freshki// pile. She picked up a mouse and skipped back to Mosskit. She smiled sincerely, and set down the prey. "Want to share?"

"hmm. sure. you showed corage back there, " she said sarcasticly and pulling it away and eating it herself. she placed it back in the middle of them laughing. "sure for real!"

"Finally! Food!" The golden tom yowled loudly over the loudness of his empty stomach. *There better be some good prey, I'm starving!*

*Thunderpath... is that what they call it?* Sylpha hurried along behind Frostedstar, until she caught sight of her old carrier. She had put her diamond collar in there, she just couldn't /completely/ get rid of it. (Tak, can she still have her toy? its not an accessory)

Frostedstar stopped, spying something strange amongst the trees. "What in Starclan...?" he mumbled to himself. He padded closer to it, noticing it smelt faintly of kittypet. Frostedstar was a few tail-lengths away from it.

"remember when we first met sylpha ?" riverpaw said as she relished in the memory. "Alot has changed hasnt it?" riverpaw said with a sigh.

mosskit crunched egerly, making sure sunstripe got a fair share. she drank in the blo.ody scent of organs and meat, relishing the slimy taste.

Sunstripe settled down beside Mosskit, and used her claws to split the mouse. Sunstripe was a little worried for Mosskit... She could be warped if everyone wasn't careful. *I won't let anyone hurt you... any of you.* She thought eyeing the other kits. The queen smiled warmly at Mosskit, and ate her mouse.
Steamkit sighed, he didn't know what was going on... but Sunstripe seemed to be sad /and/ happy...

Lightningstrike sighed. "No...I just want to stay here for a bit. I need to think."

mosskit looked at him and gestured for him to come and share although he had avoided her before. She looked at him despratly, she had missed him.

Picking up another scent, Cheetahblaze sat down on the cold ground, his nose in the air. "Kittypet?"

"Frostedstar! thats my carrier!" Sylpha ran over and sniffed inside.

Frostedstar turned his head and whispered, "Sylphapaw, this smells like kittypets...what is it? It loosk like a tiny two-leg nest."

Sweetfur nodded, "Alright, we can rest as long as you need to."

mosskit looked up. "hello thunderheart!"

Steamkit noticed Mosskit wave to him. He trotted over and sat beside the black furred cat. Despite her being his sister... he didn't know her to well. She alwas seemed to be getting into trouble or talking to warriors.

She nodded in greeting and touched his back with the tip of her tail.

"Its a mobile kittypet nest! It makes it so a person can carry their kittypet, and the kittypet can rest inside. They are actually kind of comfortable." Sylpha said this as she eyed her necklace, longing to put it back on.

Riverpaw followed sylphapaw. "Why did you need that when you were a kittypet?"riverpaw asked. Riverpaw sniffed the inside curiousley.

She quietly scampered off and returned with a small rabbit. "whos still hungry?" she said after setting it down. she turned it and took a big bite. "mmmm! freshly caught!" she added with satisfacion, trying to get streamkit to eat.

"Hmph looks crampted to me!"riverpaw said . *who would wanna be in that thing?* Riverpaw examined the 'kittypet nest' some more.

Cheetahblaze caught up with his apprentice. "A moving kittypet nest? I've never seen these... /Things/ while I was caught."

Sylpha(paw) decided to lay down on the cusion inside. "Frostedstar, can i bring my bed in here with me?" (she wants to bring the pillow inside back to camp to use as a bed)

"They feel safe actually. You can be safe from big dogs and mean creatures while your person carries you around in it."

Mosskit chewd slowly, savoring each cruncy bite trying to avoid the hard bones as she ate. as she nibbled on the flank, one tooth broke through the bla.dder and p spilled everywhere, and she dodged it just in time.

Steamkit eyed Mosskit's rabbit... it looked pretty good... and he hadn't eaten... His eyes flicked quickly around before he slowly stretched his neck towards the prey. He snapped down on it and ate it relatively quickly. His pupils were huge, he actually hadn't eaten much the past few days. *Oh no... What have I done?* He got up and ran away. (Isssuuuesss dude)

Frostedstar growled. "I thought I told you to get rid of your kittypet belongings. You are a /clan/ cat now. You must live by /clan/ rules. You are to dispose of this at once."

Cheetahblaze sighed. *Man I really need to step it up.* Just as he opened his mouth instead of words came a rough cough.

"awww great! she moaned. "it was only one nip! now all the meat is bad!" the p froze over it, making it if attempted, a very disgusting way to get to your food.

Sunstripe watched her kit eat like a savage and then run away. She was confused- until she noticed his ribs showing. *He's starving himself! Why didn't I see it?*

*hmm he was caught? just like i suspected* Sylpha grabbed her neon green feathery mouse toy, and brought it out to show the others. "We cougld usthe thus foahr huntingh prahctice Frastedsrtahr."

Sweetfur heard a loud rustling in the leaves above, and looked up. She couldn't see what was up there, but it smelled familiar... it smelled like AuroraClan, yet it wasn't feline.

"streamkit wait!" she called after him sadly. she slumped down. "they hate me." she kicked the snow and sadly and angerly stalked away from her mother with out a word. she sat a few tail lenths away with her back turned and her head bowed down low.

"dithspose ohf whaht? ih puhgt iht hergre toh stagh stahf. Yogh tohled meh toh tahke ohf my nechlace ahnd ih dighd." She said this with the toy in her mouth.

Mosskit gritted her teeth, her ears flattened agenst her head.she saw streamkits ribs. he was starving himself probbably because of her and he hated her! so much he would k!ll himself just to get away!

Frostedstar scrunched his face in frustration. "Cheetahblaze, come here." he instructed as he moved to the back end of the kittypet nest. "Follow my lead." Frostedstar stepped back and jumped at the nest, toppling it onto its side.

A gray face peeked in through the hole above the two cats, a black 'mask' around his dark eyes. He stared down at Sweetfur and Lightningstrike, staying quiet.

Sweetfur was shaking, how could this tree fox understand the feline language?! As he continued, she figured it out. The other Clan had taught him to use him to their own advantage.

Sylpha found a small niche inside of the tree. there was dead grass and pebbles inside the tree, so Sylpha put the necklace and toy into it. she then covered the niche with the rocks and grass so no one could find her things, even if they looked in the tree someday.

Frostedstar managed to reach the river and gave the nest one final shove and sent the object floating down the frosty current.

Rabbitkit nodded to Riverpaw's request, and scrambled towards the nursery. Just before she got there, Sunstripe came out of the nursery, and Rabbitkit slid past her. With a gasp, the reddish kit turned and ran back up to ner, pressing her muzzle to her mother's. "R-riverpaw needs you, Sunstripe. She said it was important; I think she needs your help with Thunderheart." She shivered in the chill wind, paws hopping on the ground. *I wish I had a tail.* She thought as snowflakes landed on her nose. *It'd be so much warner.* "C'mon, Sunstripe!"

"L-Lightningstrike...? What if we were to have kits...? I'd love to have kits with you, and I could ask one of the other she-cats to take care of them for us. Nobody would have to know..." she mewed, although she knew his answer would most likely be no.
