I'm not too good with 3d myself, but one thing you could try is to copy your picture onto two layers. Then you can use the layer on top to keep whatever's closer and erase the rest so it only shows on the lower copy of the picture. I'm really bad at wording things, sorry. Also take note of the 3d slider bar. Hope I helped!
