blackness revisited by faunboii

just a quicky. i want to use this as an excuse for a little history lesson. there is legitimate proof that africans(and other poc) and europeans were interacting centuries before the atlantic ***** trade. the proof? is all over many amazing works that came from europe. one work that i remember is "The Garden of Earthly Delights" by Hieronymus Bosch. in this work you notice one african woman with black skin and red lips. it intrigues me that africans in europe were portrayed with such respect

(continued) (after all, there were wealthy african people back then and there were kingdoms and literature from black africans as well) and i think its crazy how respected blackness was at one point and how disrespected it has been in the last few centuries? but anyway yeah im just baffled at this
