Explorer, do you mean Jesus? The Bible recounts that He was born about 4AD and was crucified about 37AD. But Jesus is God as well as man, so He raised back to life three days later, having beaten death. So His mortal body did die, then resurrect because God is stronger than death. I suggest you read the book 'John' in the New Testament of the Bible. Great place to answer your questions. :)

He died in place of us. Justice demands payment for wrongdoing, and we have wronged God. Jesus took our punishment out of love for us. If we trust in His power to save us from this punishment instead of trying to save ourselves (we can't), we are given His peace, friendship with God, power, love, joy, etc. and go to be with God when we die. 'Romans' is the book to read on this subject. :)

at Lymetail: You brought your beliefs to the conversation in a respectful manner. Thank you very much! If people want to be atheist, that's their decision, but I get so tired of all the God-bashing that most atheists do online... I know a lot of supposed 'Christians' are out there bashing atheists too. :( I'm Christian, but I *offer* people my religion, not try to force them, or try to insult their beliefs.
And yes, the bear is very cute!

tkeleth ur so right my freind was an atheist and all my the people in my class (practicaly all christians) were making fun of him cuz of that i think i was the only to stand up 4 him. (roman catholic btw)

It's a nice verse, true but this could hurt some people's beliefs. You never know what other believe in, but I still think it's nice. Cute teddy!
