Embryonic isn't for everyone. It's highly free-form and unstructured, which can throw people off. But that's exactly why I think it's beautiful. It doesn't rely on the traditional layout that music has basically been given, it dares to go where not many other works have gone before. Half the songs are of a rigid and heartpounding jazz-rock style while the other half has an eerily soft lulliby-like quality. Take 'See The Leaves' for example, which is split in half by these two styles. Lyrically, the music has a touch of mystery and unsettling feels to it, but in a way that makes you want to see what happens next. I think the best part is the way the songs are arranged, giving of a journey type of feel with the epic climactic ending song, 'Watching The Planets', making you feel as though you just finished a movie. An odd, chaotic, thrilling movie.
