UD23: Yes, it makes complete sense. "Beginning" (0)could mean the beginning of the universe or something like that. The galaxies could not exist without dark matter because it holds everything together, and it is the reason the galaxies take their form. "Oxygen" or "Life" (02) would mean the birth of life in the universe. Without dark matter, there would not be any life because since dark matter holds the galaxies together, planets can orbit a star. Without a light source like our sun, life would not exist. "Pollution" (03) could mean the weakening of life, or perhaps the end of life altogether, or even the end of the universe. Just makes you wonder...
Of course, I could be wrong. It's just a little thought.

(continuation from my last comment) And also "nothing came before it, and nothing shall come after..." from the description basically means that the universe might not have existed without dark matter, and if dark matter would just suddenly not exist anymore, the universe would too. That could be why 0 doesn't die. I mean, there have been traces of dark matter in some of the past games, just look at Magolor in his final phase.
