yep by thimbleMovedAccounts

that's why i don't usually post to tumblr
everyone kinda just ignores it
(and i'm pretty sure the same thing would happen on deviantart so i haven't done anything there yet)
this is the only reason i stay on colors
because i'm nonexistant everywhere else

I'm terrible on my tablet too, but I still upload a few things to tumblr and dA. dA is a LITTLE better when it comes to recognition compared to tumblr, but... barely. (So like, instead of getting one or two notes on tumblr, you might get four or five likes... if you're lucky)

HOWEVER once you build an audience on dA, people like your art more, because that website focuses on art. (I have not done that yet though, still at maybe 10 or less followers on both, so I'm not sure if I should really be giving advice, just my observations).

Well, technically sai doesn't have to cost money... (but I bought it cuz i'd prob feel like scum if I didn't).

There are two other free art programs I use, but they're not a ton better than photoshop. Still, they might be worth trying:

FireAlpaca (pretty good, barely use it though, but only because I barely use my tablet)

Krita (I've never used it, but I have it... and tbh if I took the time to get used to it, I'd probably like it, it looks decent)

You could use da muro... It's an art program on deviantart(you don't download it, it's built into deviantart, and your files/drawings are saved to your account), and you can immediately post anything you draw on there when you're done with it.

And it's all free! They recently made the brushes that were buy-only free to use for everybody!

And there's also Gimp, which is free, but kinda confusing to use(in my opinion). You can animate with it, but I don't know how that works.

Also a way to get noticed on deviantart is to join groups and post your art in groups so you can have your art be viewed by lots of people.

And there's also a thumbshare section in the forums where you can post your art in a thread, or if you see someone that made a topic that says "show me all of your (insert topic here) art" then if you have art on that topic, you can post your art in the comments.
