Nice to me you, welcome to Colors!3D I hope you enjoy the online community. So first off, the question you wanted me to ask is very smiple. Shading shows most of the time on other opposite side in which light is. There are many ways to use lighting and shading but the basic way to use it is to make sure light stays on its on side and shade to stay apart from it ^-^

Take any object in your house and shine it in the light, only put it half way within it. After doing this, look and see how both light and shade are on their own side.
Look at my Sonic painting in the middle of my gallery, it will show a clear example of one of the ways of shading ^-^ any more questions, just ask me and I'll try my best to help you.
