Uuuughhhh I need a portfolio for college in three weeks but all of my irl art is kinda bad and not varied enough, maybe I can get away with lower quality because this is freshman submission, but idk I'll ask my art teacher tomorrow... I might have to hold off on applying for design/art classes until next year... idk.
Maybe I'm worried over nothing.
I have a frikkin' headache.
Ok whatever.. so anyway THIS here is like... maybe the "future" of the world set up in the story I have planned...
The Colors! Gallery moderators will look at it as soon as possible.

No my traditional art is like... good when it comes to getting requirements down, but not like... outstanding. The thing is, I feel more confident NOW about making a good portfolio but I should have maybe minimum twelve artworks done my now, and I have only.... 5 or so at best that I can confidently say "yeah, this shows what I can do" So unless I make about ten outstanding things in the next 3 weeks... I can't confidently submit a portfolio.

idk, I saw that I needed to get into design in order to do graphic design, so I picked that and computer science... maybe there's a better option?

computer science being unrelated to art of course, that's just what I also want to do.

I feel all of your pain. Though I don't have a portfolio due in 3 weeks, my college essay is due by Thursday and I'm still only tentative on what I want to write about. And parents are no help with the stress level at all... XD What's your typical subject matter for your traditional art?
12 Nov, 2013, 4:16 am
Ah, well I'm sure you can do it, just
eh, i'm no good at motivation, sorry u A u

@jibblesandvich
Thanks. I'm trying not to stress, I don't think it's as big of a deal as I think it is, and it's not like I can't just wait 'till next year if I have to for that stuff, but even now I'm worried a little bit about whether or not I'll
a. actually enjoy what I get into and
b. actually be able to apply most of what I learn to a good career
Idk, typical stuff to worry about for college, but still, it's kinda hitting me all at once.
@Little Heart
I don't really have a particular subject matter, but I want to try and submit as much as I can from observation, especially people, but only because I know that kind of stuff generally works for portfolios. My uncertainty makes it worse, if I'm not confident in what I put together, that becomes apparent.

I don't really know now, like, there's nothing specifically for graphic design that doesn't involve everything else, so if I want to make a portfolio it has to have everything (or so it seems). This whole thing is making me wonder if theres either a better choice, or possibly that I just won't find the best way to do what I want to do.

I can relate to that, too. My portfolio for Governor's School was one of the worst (I thought) at the adjudication center, and yet I still got in. The best artist that I'd seen there didn't make it. I think that maybe, just maybe, and perhaps this doesn't even apply at all, the admissions/administration/staff are looking for people with talent and/or skills who can be taught. They're not necessarily looking for the best; they want something they can work with. Just keep that in mind. You'll be fine. ^-^

Relax. Your art is amazing, I'm sure you can do it. You're good at angles, and different poses, and your style is so enjoyable. I don't exaggerate when I say you're probably better than most people on here. Just do your best!

Hnnn I feel your pain, I need my portfolio for highschool done within the next month ._. Maybe try working on a different piece every day in your freetime and when the due date rolls around finish your favorites and turn them in

Hhaaaa I'm so relieved right now, I'm not going into art, I'm going into Radio, Television and Film and focusing on graphics, animation, and video game stuff. I'll do art classes, but I won't major in it. (Good gosh, I kinda realized how much I hate the "competetive" side of art after talking with my teacher, I'm glad she was honest) I'm feeling ok about my art, and I can make a portfolio, but now I don't need to... also, this way, I won't end up doing art classes I hate.

if your dream is art it will happen.. never stress it. If they arent impressed by this alone, you can make a career out of a couple hundred dollars with of equipment :D

Late comment, but, I wouldn't sweat it Anthroski bro. uvu
You don't need variety, you just need to enter the stuff you consider your best. (My gosh i'm so wrong specifically cause art schools usually lean towards "well rounded medium students", but this is what I believe. XD)
I remember I did an art portfolio for a art scholarship in school, and I sent in a bunch of cartoony things, they were da.mn good though lemme tell ya.
Though the scholarship ended up going to my buddy who draws fantastic rl stuff, I didn't feel too bad about it. ovo
And ya know why, 'cause I sent stuff that was drawn with passion, and ya know, i'd do it again. uvu
I'd rather get accomodated for art that I enjoy than a bunch of stuff I drew that meets "art college requirements". XD
The minute art becomes an "as.signment" for me is the minute I draw the line, I draw what I like and thats that, I shouldn't have to meet someones standards because they think I need to study this or that. XD
So yea...all in all, good luck! :'D

Oh...sweet. XD
Good for you Anthroski. ovo
(I really gotta start reading things more thoughroughly before I go on a rant. <XD)
