Umm... actually Sonic X has a pretty decent story line for being based off of a video game, and a childish one at that. I'd say they did a pretty good job at constructing a plot and story using only the "Sonic saving woodland creatures" plot to work with. And I actually watched the full series as a child. Ya know, when I thought Sonic was the best thing ever created since canned bread. And the series kinda had a big influence on my opinions on Sonic as a child.

To be shamefully honest, my child self was blatantly obsessed with this show. I still own the whole series on DVD.
I don't really think it was all that horrible. Granted, sometimes the animation was really off-model, and some of the "original" characters annoyed me. *cough* Chris *cough*
