I just hate how nintendo plays a paternal function all the time. JordanT is right, they had a pretty good reason to shut it down and they never said it would be like this forever. Flipnote, SuperSmash and Swapnote will eventually release one day, maybe Swapnote will even be replaced with Miiverse.

Nintenduplayer and shininimus are both right, people were using Swapnote to view and distribute child pornography as well as lure children into traps. So really we should all be glad that it got shut down and that they found out about this.
