I really like the pose you put her in and the way she's drawn. Hmmm... If I'm to guess why it didn't get the attention it deserved, maybe the background color? I've found that color is actually very important in catching people's eyes. Maybe a greenish blue would be better? Hmmm... Oh, and maybe the name. How about pink fading to yellow to match her? You can also try what I do for words and draw lines and carefully fit the words between the lines (in all caps) and then erase the lines. It takes forever, but it helped me. I really hope that helps!
