Why was the great kingdom of Orinhou abandoned..? Carved into the side of a mountain, it seemed invulnerable to any outside force. But something mysterious had happened to the inhabitants of Orinhou, and the mage aimed to find out what it was...
The Colors! Gallery moderators will look at it as soon as possible.

4th attempt in C3D. Check out my gallery... for some reason the playback of this drawing only goes about a 3rd through. Anyway I think I'm starting to get the hang of C3D. Comments/likes appreciated. :)

Y'all can see the finished product right, with the shading and everything? I'm having trouble copying the finished one to my SD card...

This would have been great if it was in correct perspective. Remember, parallell horizontal lines should converge to a vanishing point on_the_horizon.

Very nice detail! cool gallery too btw.

ariaml, are you referring to the buildings? I intentionally made them jutting out in somewhat different angles... though I may change the one in the middle of the city... I originally wanted it to look like it had a sheet of metal on the top, but now it just looks wonky. Or there's some other problem I'm not even catching...

Cool! I like the city and sea.

Snocone: I'm referring to all the buildings. Some of them are in good perspective, but almost all are incorrect. The building in the middle of the city looks wonky because it's not in perspective, we should be looking "up" on it. It's not a bad image, but perspective is very important if you want to draw architecture. (But it applies to everything) It's hard to explain what I mean if I have to write it so I made you a picture: http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/6156/citypaintover.jpg I mean no disrespect, I just want to help out so that your next painting will be even more awesome hehe!

thanks it's fine :) I'm more of a person-drawer... haven't done hardly anything in the way of landscape or architecture. I drew them that way because the perspective is from a high hill. But again, I don't know enough about it. For some reason your link didn't work...

oops, scratch that, I mistyped the link. Got it.

Awesome lesson! I'll definitely work on that. However, from your sketch, it seems like you see the characters as being much lower on the plane than in mine. I'm not sure how much that affects the angles though.

If you want to view the city from a higher angle you have to raise the horizon higher. The horizon line is sometimes called the eye level. If you want to look down at something, put the horizon line high on the page (or even outside). If you want to view something from below, put the horizon line low on the page. Oh, and perspective applies to people too, so if you study perspective drawing it will also improve your character drawings.
