You are not a bad artist at all. You've just had bad luck. People are blind to quality. The whole following feature has messed everything up with this App. You are a very good artist. You have skill. It is quite obvious to me and this is the first painting of yours that I've seen.

I'm trying to post my brightly colored painting at the right time so it appears noticable against other paintings.
My results:
-Posts when dull colored paintings are in new, ends up in brightly colored paintings
-Posts when a bunch of sketches pop up, removes painting and reports...only to find it in NEW brightly colored art. -_-

Your not a bad artist at all! I feel the same way. I only had one gold star but it was on a crappy no more sopa picture. Your much better then most artists, really. You take requests, you draw realisticly, and you shade most of your pics. It's just sometimes some people's art is visited more then others, causing the amount of likes to increase blah blah blah but it doesn't mean the other person's no good. Look at me for example: I don't shade, i light, i rush sometimes, I'm just this little forth grader trying to fit in. This about all this for a sec...

Try commenting nice things on other wolf pictures? (common interest helps...or so I've heard...)

I get more stars than my usual when least expected. MY favorites of my art somehow tends to lack stars due to me not liking my common style (as much as my better lineless style), but it seems my followers prefer the outlined stuff. Weird...

Considering you have about two-fifty fans that you got within five mo., that would be about fifty fans per month. I've been on for about two point five mo., meaning about 9 people following me per month. Drastic difference.

Hmm...Click the little gray icon on your gallery to sort paintings to "Most likes" You have 2 or 3 with gold. :T

More spacificaly, It says "Gallery" then under it is a gray/white indented box, just tap and switch that to most liked. Anyways your art is good, people are just buts and don't click like really. -u-

Plenty of people only get 4 - 10 like on their paintings. Your not the only one. And no, your art does not suck. It also depends on peoples' mistress too.
