Sipho is an adolescent quagga and the main focus of the story thus far.
Sipho, unlike the majority of young male quaggas, does not like to fight, roughhouse, or chase after girls. He is more of a thinker, and tends to wallow in self-pity too much for his own good. His dad was hunted just before he was born, so he never had a strong authority to guide him. His best aqquaintances are his stepsister Menesa and an ostrich named Ace.
