There's a definite deficit of quality in anime, so it would be a bit of a shock to see something that wasn't just drawn well, but that also told a great story, like some modern anime. It seems all modern anime revolves around magic, or action, with very little substance.

I would probably buy the DVD's if this was an anime and that's saying something since I never buy DVD's lol.
