Things get bad, then they get worse. Then you get suicidal. Then you check yourself into a psychiatric ward. Then, after many years of internal turmoil, you start to free yourself from the prison of your own mind's making. Then you see your relatives doing things to kids that made you messed up in the first place. Then you start to go crazy again. But... life's not so bad, right?

Put it this way, all decisions are made with the same process. Close your eyes and fall face first into the ground. It's your choice whether to cry or accept it and clean yourself off. (And so we're clear, it's metaphorical)
