Autumn Stroll by ABdow uNite

Insructions: using cardstock or other thick, opaque paper material, cut out a rectangle at least as large as your 3DS' (or other devices') top (primary) screen. Then, cut out a corner of the rectangle such that (for 3DS users) the upper right quadrant of of the top screen is the only part of it that is visible while the obstruction paper is resting on the bulge of the device's hinge. Skip the playback ahead as indicated, and place the paper in such a manner so as to enjoy the animation. #wc177

Thanks everyone! :) And Brandon, yep, up to twenty of them. I think Colors is likely to be a better application for creating tre-D realistic and periodic animations. However, I'll have an example of a three-D Colors animation up soon, perhaps you'll find that to be of superior quality. Frontal views are better than side, as they can allow you to use the maximum thirty eight fpc, and easier, as the background needn't change as dramatically (I'll have a Mario one that does this). Flipnote may be better at other kinds of animations. My dragonflight animation will hopefully demonstrate the power that millions of colors confer to an animation. You ought to still acquire FStriD, but Colors is superior at certain things. If only there were more frames.

If this gathers any kind of attention, I'll upload a tutorial and other materials on theory concerning such animations. Right now, so few people know of my work that it is not likely to catch on.

great job! Interesting how you used the screen flip along with the 5 layers!

This is a very interesting approach, though I can see it took a lot of effort and planning. It certainly opens more posibilities. In fact, if you were willing to lose 4 frames, you could even have a black layer that only reveals the right corner through it. Hmmm...it gives me something to test out anyway. Thank you for sharing this!

I've explained why that approach doesn't quite work in the comments of your most recently-uploaded painting, #Rogue. :)

Wow, that sounded (came out in written form, and read) wrong. I'm not sure how to rephrase it. I'm sure I'll think of something. Please forgive me for the time being. I'm glad you've taken note of and enjoyed the first of my animations. :)

Frontal animations are easier than lateral. This has twenty pixels per frame (ppf) lateral motion. I could have left out the 17th frame entirely, but I like the asymmetry it confers and that extra six-and-an-eigth percent added fluidity it provides. :)

Holy crow, my math is bad. One sixteenth is six and a quarter percent. I need to sleep. :(

Wow :o The end animation blew my mind! It was so smooth. Genius use of the flip option. I had an idea on how to use the flip option for an animation but nowhere near as clever as this.

great job man, I don't even know how to do one single animation using the whole screen let alone the flip stuff. It looked great (and I din't even know I was supposed to cover the other corners
