Not exactly. I was looking through the dephts of my myterious closet, and I found my ols chess set so I got inspired and decide to draw pokémon representing each piece.
It was originally other pokémon; but since the majority were fire-types, I decide to make them all fire-types. There isn't really a real pokémon chess game. It would be cool though n_n.
