Aragorn, while off on errantry, stops in Lorien for some much needed rest. I'm not precisely certain if this is the occasion on which he and Arwen plight their troth upon Cerin Amroth. I feel like it's after his Thorongil phase, however. I imagine he has the Ring of Barahir on him still. Also, it'd have to be when he visits Laurelindorenan in the Fall. Thanks Sharptoof for being okay with this! Have I gotten the mellyrn correct? That passage where Tolkien describes them is vague. #wc177#OneRing

#Mister Mo!: Thanks a lot!
#Mshella: Haha! Pwned!
#Knots: Thank you.
#Skykai: Much appreciated; Lorien should feel pleasant.
#JH: Don't you have any Platinum in your back pocket?
#Brandon: I like the halting, one word sentences. Thanks!
#Sharktoof: I'm glad you don't disapprove.
#Shadow BJ [no not that kind]: Are you referring to the LOTR movies? Because this is from the books. Aragorn visits Lorien on many occasions before the War of the Ring. On one visit, he reuinites with Arwen (for she often visits the homeland of her mother, Celebrian) and they pledge marriage to one another. I don't know if it was in Autumn though. This may simply be a stop following excursions in the East. Aragorn has many solitary adventures before the events with which LOTR is primarily concerned. He is the true Mithrandir, though he is more Celebrandir: not-Nimraisrandir.

Thanks and you're welcomes to all for whom that is appropriate!
#T.G: Aragorn lived for, I believe, *** years, at the end of the Third and beginning of the Fourth ages. I have imagined this scene taking place before the War of the Ring, which began in, I think, two-hundred and ten of the Third Age. Aragorn visited Lorien on many occasions throughout his life, though his birth-home was Imladris (Rivendell). This would have been a visit that occurred in autumn.
Now, Tolkien's description of the mellyrn trees that populate the ageless forest is perplexing. I've tried to split the difference where seeming contradictions arise. For instance, Tolkien wrote that the mallorn leaves didn't fall in Autumn, yet that a grove of mellyrn would be "carpeted and roofed with gold" in spring and summer. While, in the previous sentence, he says that above the leaves are pale green and below silver outside of autumn. The only thing I can be confident of is the smooth bark of grey-silver. I attribute the contradictions in the description to the contradictions intrinsic to Lothlorien, and the poor sense of time that accompanies any who enter it. Presumably, Tolkien is relaying the description from Frodo's account, and the venerable Hobbit was not immune to the strange effects of the Golden Wood. Therefore I'm not sure any account of mellyrn or Lorinand can be completely trusted. This depiction, therefore is much subject to change.

That would be two-hundred and ten years. Why do they have to censor such small numbers? I think some retooling of policy is in order.
Thanks #M.Collins for noticing the squirrel! Very few people seem to notice it. Maybe I should make it more prominent...

It's supposed to be somewhat humorous. The great warrior, returning from heroic deeds in the wild, sheathing his cleaned blade, senses that he is being watched. Ready to take action against whatever foe it may be he chances to look up, and straight into the innocent eyes of a tree squirrel. It would be a somewhat embarrassing but ultimately charming and comical experience. Aragorn isn't precisely Radagast, but I'm sure he possesses some love for the wild creatures. And the squirrel be like: yo Estel, love ya bro. Patting his chest twice and extending his arm witth its hand displaying the peace sign: or is it a brofist that he offers? Of course, the squirrel is quite out of reach so the gesture cannot be answered. Squirrels are adorable [until they chew through all of your belongings]. :)

Thanks Shayleaf for the tag. Are you familiar with Where's Waldo? For anyone who is, he isn't hiding back in those trees. Honestly he isn't there.
