they mean: after all these other people liked ur painting u have 24 likes then that person like it And Now u have 25 likes so if it were not for that person u would not have a GOLD STAR :D do u get it now?

well, uh...let's see..
You know how the Star rating works?
Bronze= 1like
Silver= 5likes etc
Well, a gold/budder star =25 likes. So when someone says 'i gave you a gold star' it means the picture had twenty four likes before the person liked it. so when they liked it, it went up to twenty five thus giving the painting a gold/budder star
