Because people are simply made wanting selfish desires. Such that they want to have a dream life w/o doing the neccessary work. Essentially, wanting free money.

The world is a strange place indeed. But sometimes it is just that we care too much for it, sometimes you just need to clear your mind and let go to find the answer. Our minds are like cups: Always overflowing with ideas and inputs. But to find your way out you must empty your cup of even the most prized thoughts.
I'm sure what you lost was of great value, and I sympathize. If you can clear your mind, you will understand why it was lost. And know what you have gained...
