While playing my pokemon Diamond Nuzlocke, I had my first pokemon death...Below is a short story I decided to write about it in the point of view of the trainer. Enjoy!
I remember when I began this journey. It all started with a briefcase and the pokemon within. My friend Barry had convinced me to go out to lake...He was sure we would find the red gyrados on the news...Who was I to say we couldn't! So I followed him out, where we found the briefcase.

lying in the tall grass. I paused for a moment, remembering my mother's words.
"Sara sweety! Make sure to avoid the tall grass! Dangerous pokemon hide there and without one of your own...I just don't want anything bad happening."
"Uh, Barry...I don't if we should go in there..."
"What? Are you scared?" He mocked though he softed his expression after an awkward moment of silence. "Sara it will be fine! We will only be there for a second! We just need to return that old guy's briefcase!"
"Alright fine..." I said as I finally gave in. We stepped quietly through the grass. I could tell he was nervious. As was I to be honest. We finally reached the briefcase, exchanging sighs of relief, though it was not long lived...Suddenly two Starly came charging at us! I let out a shriek as I ducked from one of their quick attacks. "Sara look!" I turned to see that the case had been opened to reveal three pokeballs. I gasped and grabbed one of them while Barry grabbed the other. "Go Turtwig!" I shouted as I threw the labeled pokeball. A green, turtle like pokemon emerged from the red and white capsul letting out a cry. I smiled a bit looking at it, but my smile disapeared as the bird pokemon attacked Turtwig. Scared once again, I yelled. "T-Turtwig attack!" The pokemon complied, quickly knocking out the Starly.
"Great job Sara!" Barry said with a grin, "But my Chimchar was better!" That boy, he was always so cheeky..."But Barry...they aren't ours..." I said sadly as I returned Turtwig. He looked disapointed..."Oh...yeah..."
Suddenly another boy came running over. "Oh thank godness! You found the professors briefcase! But...Oh no...You used those pokemon!? The professor will not be happy..." The boy sighed. "I'm Lucas...Come with me please."
Me and Barry looked at each other with shame and followed Lucas to the main Route, where the professor was waiting. I was so afraid...what if he called officer Jenny for using his pokemon!

But to my suprise he just told us to go home for now and meet him in Sandgem town when we were ready. He then walked away with Lucas trailing behind him looking confused.
I went home and told my mom about the whole experience...She was calm and listened to my every word. "It's okay sweetheart! I am sure it was a very scary experience for you! But I am proud of you for being so brave...Now just make sure to bring that pokemon back to the professor."
Once Turtwig and I had rested we set out for Sandgem. We ran into a few more pokemon, but I was no longer fearful! Battling felt so natural it was amazing! Turtwig seemed happy too! It even leveled up before we finally stood in front of the lab. Bitter realization hit me...I would to give up this pokemon....But I walked in regardless. Professor Rowan looked at me curiously as I walked in. "Why so glum?" He asked. I looked down. "It's nothing sir..."
"Oh well...I have some news that may cheer you up."
I looked up at him cautiously.
"I will allow you to keep this Turtwig."
"Really?!"
"Yes. I see alot of promise within you. Now would you like to name your pokemon?"
I smiled. "Arbor...I'll call him Arbor."
"Wonderful name!"
I was practically glowing as I walked out of the lab with Arbor, and a new pokedex. Lucas offered to teach me a few things about being a trainer. I accept, but I could hardly listen to him through my excitement. Finally I was free to go out and be...a pokemon trainer!
I had reached the outskirts of town and only tall grass laid ahead. "You ready Arbor!"
"Of course Sara!"
"Then let's go!"
(Yes Sara can talk to pokemon)

The first pokemon we encountered was a...Bidoof...I admit, I was a bit disappointed, but in accordance with the laws, I could only catch the first pokemon I saw on each route. With a quick tackle I had lowered the Bidoof's HP. "Go pokeball!" I shouted with excitement as I threw the pokeball. It hit the Bidoof and began to shake. Finally it stopped signalling that the bomd had been sealed. I smiled and allowed her to come out of her capsul. She chittered and looked at me. I was given the option to name the pokemon. "Hmm...I think...I'll name her Lyra!" I exclaimed.
"Oh I like that name!" Lyra commented.
Arbor grinned as well "Welcome to the team Lyra!"
Who knew...that I would lose the first pokemon I had ever caught?

Here I stood in front of the second gym. Eterna. I knew it would be difficult. But I now had a team of six loyal pokemon. Arbor (Now a Grotle) Lyra (Now a Bibarel) Sasha (A Luxio) Claude (A Hoothoot) Kai (Machop) Asuna (Buizel)
I was confident that after all of this training, that I could do this with ease...
I walked into the odd grass and tree filled building, and was greeted by the kind gym leader, Gardainia. We exchanged a few words before she disapeared through the door. "I'll be waiting." Were her parting words. I felt a shudder go down my spine. This gym...It made me feel uneasy, but my pokemon were eager for battle. We fought the trainers within the gym with ease. I relaxed a bit. This would be easy right? Finally Gardainia showed herself to us. "Are you ready trainer?"
"Of course."
"Then let's battle!"
She sent in a Roselia, which I countered by sending in the latest addition of my team. Claude. I started by using hyponosis to make the grass type fall asleep, and then while it was vunerable, Claude used peck, but unfortunately the move woke up the Roselia. In counter with leech seed, which drained Claude's Hp but he managed to knock it out. I returned the owl pokemon. "Take a rest Claude."
Next I sent out my Machop, while the gym leader sent out a...Turtwig?! I was shocked! How did she have a turtwig! I had to ignore my confusion for a moment. I commanded Kai to use Karate chop but the turtwig countered with razor leaf, almost knocking out my fighting type pokemon! "Kai return!" I called.
I looked at my pokemon carefully before sending out my strongest pokemon. "Go Arbor!" I shouted as I summoned the Grotle. Gardainia seemed suprised. "A Grotle? Intresting choice trainer!" Grotle fought fiecely until the Turtwig had fainted. Arbor however had been weakened...and I was not prepared for the pokemon Gardania sent out next...Rosarade, a pokemon clearly stronger than all of her others...Grotle used bite several times valently but the Rosaraid was stronger

I know that feel. I'm playing Nuzlocke on my Black. No one has died, let's hope it stays that way. This drawing's really cool by the way.

"Sara...I-I don't feel so good..." The Grotle panted. Rosarade smirked. "Arbor return!"
All of my pokemon were tired and weak by now except...Lyra. She could buy me time to heal Arbor...So I sent her out and healed Arbor...and then I realized that I had made a horrible decision...Bibarels were water types! Weak against grass types. "Lyra re-" It was too late...Razor sharp glowing leaves flew at Lyra. I could hear her scream with fear and pain as the leaves sliced at her skin. Her eyes were wide and petrified as she was cut open. "Lyra!" Arbor screamed in horror.
(He is watching on the sidelines)
Blood dripped from her mouth and neck as she fell backwards. "I-I'm sorry Sara." Lyra whispered.
The air seemed to have been sucked out of the room at that moment. Everything was silent. Crimson drops stained the floor....While tears stained my face..."Ly-LYRA!" I screamed painfully. I could feel myself fall as I covered my mouth to stiffle my sobs. Gardania looked at me with sorrow..."Sara I am so sorry..." She murmered. I got up and wiped my face. "Let finish this Arbor....For Lyra." I said. Arbor nodded determinedly. "For Lyra." He repeated. Gardiania smiled sadly. "I am glad to see you still have some spirit..."
I ignored her. "Arbor use bite!" His attack, fueled with anger, rage, sadness, loss...Knocked out the Rosarade quickly.
I was given the badge which I accepted. I had this hollow broken feeling in my chest, I still could breath...She was gone. "At least you won..." Gardainia said attempting to consul me...But this victory had been bitter...and really, it felt more like I had lost...
"Goodbye Lyra."
(End)

A Nuzlock, or Pokemon Hard mode, is a run of Pokemon where:
A: You can only catch the first Pokemon you encounter in an area, only that very exact one until the next area.
B: Any Pokemon that faints is considered dead. You must release it, or never use it again. No revives or any other item of that nature. Those are the main rules and others can be added to crank it up a little.
