they only made it for the young ones and those who dont have a 3ds
of course you dont need to buy one if you have a 3ds
but we can agree on one thing
it makes an excellent door stop

I never even heard of the 2Ds...XD Till a few days ago. They are for the younger kids! I don't C how it bother others...(:/...Its just a game system for kids...its not like we R gonna buy them...Plus, let little kids have the same fun we do on our 3Ds's...its not fair for them...

Finally someone who understands.

It was made to draw people to buy it for people who don't have a 3ds so they can play pokemon x and y or to just own a cheaper virson for a 3ds that has no 3d so they made a good move there with that protuct. This has been another pointless information moment with The Fire Yoshi. Thank you and good night.

Nintendo 2DS is kinda like a 3DS version for kids, poorer people or people who don't care for the 3D... I don't see the reason to hate this..

Its stupid and great at the same time, its less expensive and negates the 3D effect which is practicly useless to some people with eye problems, and the lack of the hindges makes it less destructable XD

it's actually for people who couldn't afford the 3ds so the 2ds is cheaper but the thing I don't like about is the no 3d and how it looks it's my opinion just saying

WHY A 2DS NINTENDO NOBODY GOING TO BUY THAT

It's for little kids people. So if you think about it is a good idea.

I really don't think it's that bad. We know it's mainly for little kids and it gives them an introduction to video games today. ; )

The 2ds is pretty much designed to be a cheaper more durable alternative for younger children, who, according to Nintendo, aren't supposed to use theb3d anyways. And as far as the solid hingeless design is concerned, the hinges were the number one things children would break on the ds and 3ds. Honestly I thought the 2ds sounded as ridiculous as a lot of people thought when it was initially announced, but when you read up on it, the device totally makes sense. Just because you may not be a part of the targeted audience, doesn't make the 2ds a failure.

I'm getting it so i can own the whole 3DS family. 3DS,3DSxl and 2DS.

2DS is a good idea. Kids under 7 can get serious eye damage from the 3D effect.

Its just a Ds which can play 3d video games in 2d and has no hinge, great idea Nintendo, great idea! No really, 3d effect is bad to 7 and under.
