With regard to mega ampharos being a dragon type it actually makes a lot more sense than people give it credit for. Ampharos' Japanese name is Denryu, which can be translated as "electric dragon." However, until recently, it hasn't had dragon as its second typing. I think its about time. Charizard, meanwhile, has always been a fire/flying type. It is much more effective as such based on its move pool and abilities than it would be as a fire/dragon or a flying/dragon. And if it changed into one of these during mega evolution, it would just severely complicate things for the trainer, especially if your fire/flying turned into a fire/dragon in the middle of a sky battle... (Sorry for the rant but I am very tired of seeing people saying mega ampharos shouldn't be a dragon and charizard should be without anything but the pokemon designs as their reasoning.)
