Growliths and Arcanines can be male or female, same with Ninetales. They just appear in different versions of the game, for example, maybe Arcanine's in Fire red and Ninetales is in Leaf green.(that's probably not right, but you get the point.) But it's still cute. :D
errr no it aint the male counter part cos arcanine can be male or female and same for ninetales, oh btw a better male/female example would be Braviary and mandibuzz cos braviary is male only and mandibuzz female only.
To ShadowBlack: I said that I know, but there is more probabilty to find a male Growlithe or a female Vulpix. Also, you can find Vulpix only in Pokèmon Blue (or Leaf Green), and Growlithe only in Pokèmon Red (or Fire Red).
When I was younger my siblings and I would make pokemon Families Like usually the final evolution would be the dad, 2nd evolution would be the mom and starting form would be the kid, but when there was only two evolutions we would pair them up (this was back during the first generations) xD but yeah these two were a couple so I just thought it was funny that this picture has them as a couple great job btw! :D
