Nice picture. hmmm...well when I try to draw something I usually start by making a rough sketch of a character; using simple circles for joints and lines to make them together. It's best to use references or real-life as guidelines for anatomy. Then I'd add details like fur and clothing, which at times would be from real-life as well. The main thing to do would have to be alot of practice.
