Tron helps Rinzler regulate the recharging process since Rinzler isn't very good at absorbing energy through touch alone.
This is based on an idea someone had based on the Tron video with Anon and questions about Tron's curcuits which compose of thin lines and small dots as opposed to the complicated circuits he had in the first movie.
Both of their circuits allow them to function with needing large amounts of energy.
They're both outside the grid w/o human bodies.
