As for why ika's sad...
She thinks about the endless mistakes she's made, she's full of regret, yeah...
The happiest ones on the outside are always the darkest ones on the inside.
Ika is a prime example.

Ika was sitting in a room. Not a word was to be heard. She was sobbing, all alone... and that's when Ika met a wonderful lucario named Icy. The pink lucario turned around to see a cyan glowing lucario staring at her. Icy said, "It's okay." and sat beside her. Ika wiped her tears as the lucario reassuringly smiled at her...

*gasp* What if that was how Ika and Icy met...?! Dat would be a drawing way too cute to look at. XP

Also, Icy does't talk too much, but with friends he'll talk normally.
(Note: 'icy' is not based on me, not a poke-sona)
Icy is very good swordsmen, fighter. He fights with a sword made of aura, and even sometimes will bash an opponent with a wall of aura, don't take his fighting skills lightly.
Hes kind with friends, and doesn't talk about his past, thought hes mentioned an old kabutops friend.
