My cat was poisoned too...... He was a little silver tabby and I didn't know anyone who didn't like him...... but my neighbour put rat poison down and my cat fell for it..... they put him down..... i wasn't even allowed to keep the ashes........

I am so so SO sorry for your loss. This reminded me of my cat, Minnie, who died in 2011 when she was about 2 as well. I broke down when my mom came and told me that she had been run over.

Your cats remind me of the strays living outside of my house. Three mothers had eight babys (combined). Unfortunately, four out of the eight kittens didn't make it. One starved to death, another was probably k.illed by one of the others because his head was chopped off, the third kitten got k.illed because my mom accidentally ran over him (he was slowly dying, anyway), and the last cat that died got hit by a truck because the driver ran fast (it was an instant k.ill, so he only had a bruise on his face, which was where he got hit). Leo, the kitten that recently died, was on the other side of the road (near my neighbor's ditch). His twin brother Chester was on the driveway waiting for him to come. But Leo got scared of the truck and sprinted to late. However, he DID manage to get on the other side, where my little sister and I watched the tragedy. Chester was sniffing Leo's dead body and followed us while we were looking for a spot to bury him (Leo). I just finished changing the litterbox for my two cats. It was at six in the morning, so we were apparently the only two outside. And this happened. Wow, my story's a little bit too long, huh? :l

Just make sure to cherish the time you spent with him,rather then regret the time you didn't.He did his best,and now to have to too.And no matter what you believe in,when your own time is past,I am sure he will be waiting for you,and then you will always have time with him!

But my orange kitty lived a long happy life of 12 years.

:( im so sorry. i cant know how sad you are, but i can relate. i had a black cat come to my house during a rainy night, he was cold and wet and meowing. my parents wouldnt let him come in, but they let me feed it every day and i became really attatched to it. then the vet came to our house to give it shots so i could keep it, and it ran away. it was too wild, so we had to find a home for it, and if it was still too wild, put it to sleep. i was really sad, but i got through it. i hope the same for you.

I have a dog that I've had for 5 years... I can't imagine life without her... I'm so sorry for your loss. That's horrible. If only cats lived as long as humans.

I think you blame yourself too much, pets enrich our lives, you obviously just had alot to deal with. And things happen, thats life. This one kitten made more of a difference to your life than most pets, Id say thats something.
My first pets goku (f*** yeah, I named my cat goku.) and nick were fed antifreeze, thats a horrid way to go.
My dad found them outside, nick was already dead, but goku was screeching in agony, so he put him down. Pretty awful,
We found a black kitten during the same time whom we named lil bit. He was the **** too. We had him for yeaaars and he always greeted me when I came home from school. But, alas, he stopped showing up one day.
But I have fond memories, thats what counts.

Okay, so I remember reading the description about 20 minutes ago, and saying to my family "I'm probably about to read something emotional."

So I start reading the animation out loud to my sister. I was choked up about 1/4 of the way, but next thing I know, I can't control the tears that are down my face. I haven't cried about something I've watched in a long time. You're so amazing at telling (true) stories, and you're one of the most talented artists on the gallery. I'm really sorry about your loss. I'll always remember this animation, and your cats, especially Baby.

I'm extremely sorry for you, Mr. Ranger. My dog had to be put down in March, and I was depressed for a least a week. I truely hope you recover from all of the negativity in your life at the moment. We all have bad days, but it's truely heart - breaking to hear that someone you loved is no longer with us. Your kittys' in a better place now, being friends and helping all of the other kittens' there. It's gonna okay, man, it's gonna be okay.... :)

Wow, well, I did have alot to say, (lets see if I remember)

Now I'm not much of a cat person, I actually don't like them, (bad memories, had a cat, scratched me when I hugged it, ate her newborns, hid under the house, ran away).

But I know the feeling of losing loved pets, a dog, some smart parrots, and even a snake.
I cried like a bizz when my dog and parrot died, loved them they loved me, and my parrot knew how to say cookie, CUTE!

Now at the moment, I have an 11 year old maltese dog, had her that long ELEVEN HUGE YEARS!!
I make sure I hug her everyday, play, feed, and walk her. Looking like a fat burrito, I love her everyday, because I know that losing a pet for one-two years of having is very hard, imagine cranking that up to eleven? Your childhood friend? MY, best friend!

I'm afraid everyday, especially during my military training days, because there, I can't show emotions like that.

I wish you the best, and keep living life, you may get another pet that of course won't be like Baby, but it's the start of a fresh new friend and experience.

I'm so sorry Rogue Ranger! I know how hard it is to lose a beloved pet. After a while the pet becomes both a close friend and a family member.
I teared up at the sad part. It reminded me of my cat, Lovey, who was a little like Baby. She was both laid back, affectionate, and very forgiving. We had her for about ten years, and she was getting pretty old. She got lung cancer, and we kept her alive as long as we could without her feeling any pain, but in 2 0 1 1 , on Thanksgiving break she had to be put down.
I've never entirely got over it, but I find time helps. Also try to think about all the happy memories you had with Baby. A wound like this never heals completely, and is likely to leave a scar, but time and happy memories can reduce it to a thin line. (ugh. sorry for the cheesey metaphor) :)

Like my sister Wild Fire said, we lost a cat--though it 2 0 1 2, Wi, just last year ;)--and I've been through the anguish of losing both pets and animals I've been close to but haven't owned. I know that empty feeling and not knowing how you'll get past this and move on through life with them gone. After time, the wound does heal--never completely, but enough that you won't burst into tears when you think about them--and I wish you the best of luck while you work through your loss and illness.

I know how you feel...I had two cats that died (of kidney failure, too) within nine months of each other. One died four days before my birthday, which made it a million times more sad. They lived to nineteen and sixteen. I'm really sorry Baby died so young. I dont even know how you even had the emotional strength to make this (which btw is AMAZING). I'm so sorry... :'(

Here's my story, on May 5 2OlO my dad bought me a hamster that i named Spotty for getting good grades. I spent alot of time talking to him at night talking about my feelings and school. Whenever I gad a bad day, I would talk to him for hours :] And he would look at me and listen. altough i couldnt see it I felt that Spotty listened to all my words. He liked to escape alot, Once my bro woke up and found him next to our bunkbeds. We were really close. Then on December 2Ol3, My family had a Paino recital at our house I was playing Paino, Eating and laughing with my friends. Then I realized people started leaving early my mom told me to follow her to Spotty's room. When I got there He was laying in his cage and not moving tears rushed down my face as I realized he died. I was heartbroken. Even to this day i chat with spotty's spirit and with my new hamster, Buddy. On spotty's b-day i lay flowers were we buried him and then I talk with his spirit. I mis you Spotty

Duh, I very much miss school (missed out on regestering my classes), I miss my basic training (getting yelled by Drill Sergeants with their funny ways, all the battle buddies/friends I made, new experience), and I miss my dad.

Yet I see kids and people complaining about how they hate school cuz its boring and have to wake up early, hating their parents cuz of rules. Best people to tell them to appreciate life are people like you, the very well known, same with me.

Aww... Once in 2010 I had a puppy called Sueva. In November she ate Slug and Snail poisoning which im guessing the cats tipped over, then she got really sick and died. We treated her at home though because my moms a vet nurse. I miss her very much and your Baby story moved me. At least he's in a much better place now, waiting for you.

sadly our society can't deal with death. try to learn from this experience: yes life can be hard, yes we make mistakes, but no, things wouldn't have been better if you were rich, and no, it's not your fault someone poisoned him, nor staying with him more would have changed things: he loved you for who you were, and it's normal to have time for yourself. life is a learning experience, and we can't hope for it to go well by itself: we have to learn from what we see to be able to cause good things to happen. maybe these aren't typical consolation words or condolences, but i really hope you get better and turn your experience in something enriching. take your time, and listen to yourself, all of it, find what's important by yourself.
again, not the typical words, but i'm not satisfyed by the typical way of dealing with these things. be yourself better than you already are. salutations.

Oh my goodness, What a touching animation.. It had me in tears.. I understand how you feel... I lost several animals to poisioning myself years ago, How can ppl be so cruel...But I also understand the pain of wishing you spent more time with them & now its to late, I lost the sweetest little Angel (My Bird) She loved me & had the most adorable eyes & was so friendly & playful, I still remember having her in my arms as I tried to get her through the night to get her to the vet.. I couldnt sleep The vet told us she needed an operation I saw her the morning before she had it, I remember telling her you are going to make it & we will bring you home stay strong... butn as we got home the phone rang, they told us the operation was good but her heart wasnt strong enoughn as she was already to weak so she didnt make it, I burst out in tears & started screaming its not fair I cried for the rest of the day & still do often to this day.. Thing I really regret though is I chose to neglect her for electronics & she died A 1yr old, Dealing with loss is never easy & the pain will never be truly healed, but we can try to remember what they were & the happiness they brought to our lives & the special moments we got go enjoy with them, thats something we will always have....

l'm soooooooo sorry for your loss l have 2 dogs that both have seizures so everytime that happens they too could pass so l'm always sad when it happens but l always have faith and so far they are ok but l am really sorry for your loss.My grandmother had a cat and it died then after a year or two she passed and l was heart broken but l hope you will be fine and not sad soon l do feel for you so so so so sorry it made me very sad l hope you get better soon.

I like to believe that you can see your pets again in heaven. :) And don't feel too bad about being too busy for him, it happens to everyone. There is always lots going on, humans are busy busy creatures. I'm sure Baby understood and never thought you loved him any less. He sounds like an extremely perceptive and intelligent cat. Also don't be too angry at people because it could have been an accidental poisoning. Such as rat poison put out for raccoons and such. I'd also like to hope that there isn't someone out there so sick as to intentionally hurt someone's pet. I would be devistated to illness as you, if my cat died, but I know someday she will, just as I will. Something both you and I need to remember is to not let those happy and loving memories be smothered by sadness. You have a love and relationship that you were so lucky to share with Baby. Many people never experience even a fraction of that. Cherish your love for Baby and let it give you strength. :)

Oh my gosh! I'm not a very emotional person, but this made me cry. (Bawling my eyes out over here X') ) I had a black cat I loved as well. She was an alley cat. We found her lying alongside the rode, half starved. We nursed her back to health. She was very sweet, but our dad said we couldn't keep her unless she got her shots. We brought her over to the vet. But, she caught something over there. She started hacking and she threw up all her food. She even spread it to our other cat. They both were sick. I went out there to call them into the house and there was the black one, lying on the floor. About a week after Thanksgiving, the other one died. (The black one died the day after Thanksgiving) I'm not telling you this to get attention, I'm telling you so you know you aren't alone. I know losing a pet you love stinks, especially when you watch them suffer, and you can't do anything. But we have to remember they died bravely. They knew it was their time. I know Baby loved you. :')

Aww. I know exactly how you feel. I've had to experience something similar to this story twice in one month with two of my precious cats. I still miss them, and you will probably miss yours for a long while as well. I may not be the best at giving advice, but the way I mostly overcame my stress was by praying as often as I could, and telling God about my feelings and thoughts. I usually felt very comforted after doing so. It helped me feel peaceful and I was able to relax. God is always there to listen to your feelings, and he is always willing to help out

This is extremely sad... It really is.

But I highly doubt he was poisoned purposely.
Cats are extremely vulnerable to poisons because they love to lick themselves clean & chew on plants. [for example, the lilly family is extremely dangerous, and will k!ll quickly]

They also sit under cars a lot, an easy place to pick up chemicals.
So because they lick to clean, when they get those chemicals on them... They consume it.

I'm extremely sorry for your loss.
I just wanted people to know [as I see lots of hate] that it's highly unlikely someone did this purposely.

I just hope this informs people, I wasn't trying to hate.

Fluffalie, you do make a good point and I don't blame anyone for Baby's death. Even if someone did poisen him on purpose, I would have to forgive him. Also, -Twilight Angel- raised the idea that the poisen could have been intended for a rat or mouse. Baby was a hunter sometimes...

Wow, I've never heard of that happening before.

We found my cat in the backyard, hungery, fixed & declawed [abandonded]
I fed her ham and I've had her for 5 years now.
[PONYO MOMENT]

One morning she cat came home with her forehead fur comepletely gone. She was swelling around her eyes untill she looked like an oriental [siamese, ect.] cat.
There were no scratches on her wound [thank god]

We suspect it was people:
no scratches - not from an animal

We were lucky,
She completely recovered with no vet trips, and her appatite/sense of direction didn't change.

Vets do what they can...
There isn't much you can do for kidney failure tho
[except charge lots of $$$]

I was gonna be one but my fear of cut wrists is too much so nope, it costs too much $, and putting them down is just so...
hard...

My dad was extremely close to his dog Gizmo, and one day he came home with a hole in his forehead; someone had impaled his forehead with a plactic pipe. He almost died, and my dad didn't have the money to have the small piece of pipe that had broken off and gotten stuck.
Five years later, my dad's neighbors had a chicken go missing. They assumed one of my dad's dogs had ate it, so they poisoned a few of them, including Gizmo. My dad was devestated. That was the only time I have ever seen my dad cry, and the neighbors were probably lucky that my dad is a very gentle man, because I probably would have beaten the crap out of them.

RIP Baby. The story was very sad and I am sorry for your loss. I must say your animation and drawing skills are very good on a positive note. Also, the amount of effort (17 Hours) to tell your cat's story just shows how much you loved him. You're a good person.

I feel the same way because just a few months back my cat Gizmo got hurt by my dads dogs. He got lost and tried to make it back home but by the time he was at the vet he was dead. I'll pray that you find a friend as good as Baby.

I lost my cat Hailee to Kidney Failure, and my cat Maxx to Stomach Cancer... We had to drain fluid out of Maxx's stomach every day until we had to put him to sleep... and Hailee was lucky in a way- her kidney failure didn't cause her any pain. I feel your pain, Rogue. And I'm so sorry for what happened.

My cat baby died of an illness and my cat bonkers died of bone cancer my cat harley has had constapation, her tail has been bitten, and has had a window shut on her foot but she is still living but i know how you feel

Poor Baby. I know how you feel my dog died 12 days after... On August 10th... And I can't remember a time when she didn't cheer me up. She used to come to me when I was sad and sit there and I would pet her and I loved her so much.

RR, your paintings make me express my feelings...i almost teared up...(anc now my reason for commenting) Once upon a time (last year) i had three cats named Shadow, Pepper, & Springs. One day she wasn't eating as much, and my mom took her to the vet.They said she had stomach cancer.(she wasn't put down though) She died last Nov.(the seventeenth) but now....i have a new kitten named olive that i love just as much....she makes me feel better.
