Yes he is base off a dragon. His first form is based off the mythical salmander a beast that is incast in flames.Lance uses one and he's a dragon master.He also learns a few dragon moves by level-up.

I had a Sanzudora before 5th gen came U.S. I got a hold of jp copy of white. Sanzudora means 3 head dragon in japanness.It Hydreigon name in japan. it was at lv 87ish(it beenso lone I can't remeber but it was over that I do know) I trade it to anther game and the go broking. it had draco meteor and it was powerfull.
