"Carnellyfish" is short for carnivorous jellyfish. That's the kind of jellyfish they have on Alternia. That's my headcanon. And, that's her lusus. She has some sort of clownfish/anemone-ish relationship with it; she herself may be immune to the stings, but everyone else aren't.
