So I did this classic Vermeer painting for my opinion in the tracing debate. I post just the painting replica now as requested by @the stinky potato Hope you enjoy it.
I love this painting (both Johannes Vermeer's original painting & your recreation). The details are great, especially in the eyes, lips, and the earring. Excellent work! I wish I could recreate a masterpiece with as much ease.
tracing is fine to use as an outline or guidlines. *however* if it is completly copied, i do not believe that is right. (thank you for the background help btw :D ill deffinatly apply it to my future work!!)
Princess I can agree with you but I believe that we all need to separate the word tracing from plagiarism. Otherwise the camera symbol will make us all tracers (read plagiarists) and perfectly well created artwork will be falsely accused.
I would like to be this good! My drawings are usually based other references (traced). Even with a photo, my drawings seem to come out more as impressionistic or watercolor. Just can't get that realism down.
